Case-Studies for a newbie? $20,000 budget

I am newbie in IM. I am going to do a few case studies to get a feel how things work, which strategy works, just to learn by doing it.

#Project 1

Currently, I am working a website with Exact Match Domain (EMD), 5000 global search/month, 2000 local search/month. Hosted on Hostgator shared host, will put one 1,000 words, + four 250 words short posts. Will also do a few manual backlink per day using Scrapebox. I will monitor the traffic and the conversion rate (earning) using Google Analytics.

I am using wordpress with a few basic plugins.
- dSense-Deluxe WordPress Plugin/Acme Technologies Zeitgeist
- Stop Comment Spam and Trackback Spam /Akismet
- Google Sitemap Generator for WordPress
- socialable push.cx
- Il Filosofo/ WordPress Database Backup
Any other basic plugins I should add?

The website is a review website, I am focusing on the traffic (will get traffic lesson from trafficgrab.com for $79). I am putting adsense, amazon affiliate and click bank affiliate to monetise it. I am keeping track the Return of Investment (ROI).

Any suggestions?

Next projects
#Project 2: building a Made For Adsense (MFA) website, about 50-100 pages. The content will be autogenerated, will put adsense after I got a significant traffic. I hope this strategy will still work.

Any suggestions?

#Project 3:from what I read, it seems PPC and CPA is the way to make real money. Our profit is basically the different between PPC cost and CPA revenue and revenue from natural (non paid) trafffic. I will start will a small campaign, $30 per day for 15 days. Then gradually scale it up to $20K.

I believe the key is incremental improvement by refining the winning keywords and continous testing/optimization of the landing page.

Any suggestions?

If you have any thought of what would be good case studies for a newbie with some technical skill (e.g. I can program in C++/Java/PHP etc), please let me know. Many thanks for your comments/advices.

First two strategies are good ones to follow and invest in.

For no 3 CPA networks it is going to be hard to make good money if you don't have your own product or are at least selling higher ticket items.

It cost more to drive buyers to your site and that is what you really want.

A lot of people spend money sending traffic to their site but there are few buyers so the conversions are low.

You should consider doing everything you are but also create a couple of your own high quality, high value products to sell on your websites for better margins.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advices on project#3. I have an impression the real money come from CPA/PPC. Will learn more on this, also on PPV.

    Thanks again.

I am working on project #1 now. And doing some planning on project #2.
