Slide Dimensions For Training Video

Hey folks,

I want to make some new training videos for my new product. The video will be a combination of PowerPoint-style slides (made in Keynote for Mac) and screencast tutorial videos (showing my Mac screen).

The videos will, upon completion, be embedded into my membership area using EasyVideoPlayer and will be the size of a YouTube video (I think that is 640 x 390), BUT I would like the video to also look great if someone clicks the "Play Full Screen" button.

So -- my questions...

What size should I set my slides to be in Keynote? Should I make them 640 x 390 or should I make them larger initially and re-size them to be 640 x 390 in Screenflow (which I'll be using to edit the videos).

Then -- should the video be exported at 640 x 390 or a larger size and set to that size in EVP?

Thanks for the help!
Marc

I usually do mine in Camtasia and set the screen size to 800 X 600. Sometimes (particularly if I'm recording a large res. website) I'll set the screen size to 1024 x 176. I find both sizes work well.

    Perfect! Thanks folks...

So I'll look to do it at 1280 x 720. Do I then export the video at that size? Presumably that will make for a higher file size (more $$$ to host on Amazon) but also a better quality.

    Awesome!
