hello everybody

what is the best way to split test?

how long does it take?

can i buy solo ads to split test?

is it something that should be done after you are making money from your product from your original salespage?

    Split testing is something you should be doing ALL the time. Unless you have a sales page converting at 100% then there is always room for improvement.

    The easiest way to setup a simple A/B split test (testing one version of a page vs another) is using Google Website Optimizer.

    It's a free and fairly simple to use tool.

    Just make sure that when split testing in an A/B fashion you only ever change ONE thing on the page at a time. If you change more than one thing then you will never know which change it was that resulted in the higher or lower conversion rate. Also make sure you send enough traffic to your test so your results are accurate. Sending 100 people to a page is not going to give you a very accurate test - 1000+ visitors is more like it.

    Some simple things you can start testing that will generally account for the biggest differences are things like your headline, sub-headline, price point, guarantee, etc.

    If you don't have any traffic, what were you planning on split testing anyway?

    You need to be focusing on your traffic for now, worry about split testing it later.

      1. make salespage
      2. get traffic
      3. split test

      split testing is a luxury that if i have traffic i can afford.

      but my question is - is solo ads a good traffic to split test any niche apart from the money making niche ?

      i cannot afford to spend the next ten years writing articles or videos to get traffic if i want to quickly split test - right?

        Well, if you want to do split testing properly then you would do a different test with each different traffic source.

        Let's say you started running some banner ads to your site and conducted a split test of your headline where one headline out converted the other by 2:1. Does this then mean that headline is going to do just as well with other traffic sources? No, not necessarily. This is the mistake a lot of people make when split testing.

        If you want to purchase some solo ads then by all means go for it and do some split testing. But don't then assume those results will hold true for every other traffic source you use... or even every other solo ad mailing you use.

        Split testing is best done when you have a consistent traffic source.

    I agree it's point less to worry about split testing you won't have enough data to analyze. Focus on more ways to increase traffic
