Canadian Sales tax to international buyers

Hey guys,

I'm starting a business where i create promotional videos for businesses worldwide. However, my business is located in canada and i know that a majority of my customers will be coming from usa.

So i was wondering if i'm supposed to charge american customers any sales tax like i do with my canadian customers?

In canada, i would charge my canadian customers whatever sales tax it is in their province and not mine. I'm assuming i do something similar with international customers, but i'd like to make sure with you guys.

    You are not required to charge non-Canadian residents tax.

    But really, you should contact the Canadian Revenue Agency:

    Canada Revenue Agency - Main menu

    You really need to understand when to charge tax and whether you need a GST number to collect the tax, how to remit the collected taxes, how to claim taxes paid out, etc.
