What Am I Missing About FB? I Could Use Some Help

Hi WF -

I think I'm missing something with FB. I'm trying to publicize a new blog. I'm planning for it to become an authority site; use aff links, list, my own products, etc.

To start working Facebook, here's what I did....

1) Created a "Page" - this off of my personal log in.

2) Created a custom landing page for the Page

3) Invited all of my personal friends who I thought would be interested - about 100 or so.

4) Invited my Gmail address book contacts who I thought would be interested - about 100 or so. So now I have 10 people liking my page.

5) I have my blog posts auto posting to the Wall

6) I have my Tweets auto posting posting to my Wall

So.... How the heck do you get more people following - er, uh, "liking" the Page?

I've got another blog that I am applying these lessons to also - that one is stuck at like 30 Likes.

What am I missing?

I'm very late to the game with FB, but I'm trying! Any advice you guys and gals can throw my way would be awesome...

    their are no easy roads and i know how you feel. start by putting your domain in your signature! then put a facebook like widget on your site on the top where many can see it. after that just market your site.

    another important thing to have is patience. if you have only done this for 1 day 30 likes is pretty good. i'd say put the stuff on your blog, blog daily and the likes will come from your blog. the blog is more important than facebook also if you get many viewers to your blog you can do a simple promotional post to get more likes

    that being said i saw a site www.carlocab.com (not mine) which had a guest blog post on how to get 10k+ facebook likes (10,000+). I haven't read it yet, so I don't know all the quality, but you may want to check it out.

    If you want more likes, you'll have to put your "like me" box on every page of your site, mention it in the signature of your email newsletter, and create campaigns designed to drive traffic straight to your facebook page.
