This is a subject that will probably see me flamed out of here but it needs to be said.
Over the past few months I have observed the forum and in particular Mike Lantz's WSOTD.
I was told that Mike actually stated in public that he had a preference to award newcomers rather than 'old timers' yet went on to award Mr. Crumlish 13 accolaides in just over a year.
In parallel, another prominent marketer was overlooked because of the newcomer criteria raising some queioquestion over the validity of this award.
There are other eyebrow raisers along the way but the one that caught my eye more than any was when WSOTD was actually awarded today to an offer that didn't even get announced through the Warrior Forum as being released until about 12 hours later.
Now, something just has to be wrong here. first of, this award was not to a newbie, it was not to a high converter, it was not for high sales as it was not even released so what was it for? Could it have been that there were supposedly only 30 licences available and WSOTD had to snatch them up first or was it insider buddy buddy dealing. Either way, something is wrong with this award and I firmly believe this should be brought out into the open.
I accept that there are copycat offers but none of them hold the keys to the money vault so to speak. Mike Lantz wields an immense power over hte forum and I believe that this might signal an abuse of that power.
If one person should be seen as fair it should be him. If he wants to stand above the copycats, then he should be fair, if he wants WSOTD to have credibility then award it on a fair and open basis that people can contend towards.
So, ok, I shot any chance of an 'award' now but I don't want such fake recognition. I want people to come out and discuss this, tell me to mind my own business or ask Mike to clean up that shop, whatever.
What I am doing is telling it as I see it. I have great respect and I don't like to see people misuse that so go whichever way you want or go no way at all but until Mike Lantz defines his guidelines once and for all (and sticks to them) I for one will not tick his 50% box thank you.
This is Tony Grant loud and proud not looking for a fight, just looking for impartiality or is that too naive?

    Tony,

The way I see it, The WSOTD award is NOT affiliated with the Warrior Forum AT ALL and Mike is allowed to choose and promote any product he wants... just as anyone else with a list is able to. He owes nothing to you, me, or anyone else.

It's a VERY lucrative business Mike has going there and no one would know that better than Mike himself. It is in his best interest to promote good products or his list won't be very receptive for much longer.

Would you rather go out on a limb and promote a product from a relatively unknown person or promote a product from someone who has proven themselves before, many times over? Yes, Mike has said in the past that he likes to try and give newcomers a go but that's not to say he won't promote other, more established WSO sellers as well -- more often than not they seem to be the ones with the better products.

As for promoting a product that had not been released, that just means it had not been released to the public. Quite often repeat WSO sellers will do a special mini discount launch to their own internal list before they take the offer public. Mike is able to guage through those private launches as to how well a product is going to sell when it eventually hits the WSO forum.

Tony, I'm not going to flame you, just give you some truth here when it applies to business...

It's Mike's list and he doesn't have to be partial. If you don't like how he does his WSOTD, don't use WSO Pro.

Second, no one should create a WSO with goal of getting WSOTD. You are just setting yourself up for disappointment.

You should create a WSO for the same reasons you create any other product - to gather leads and sell products. With those goals, you work to find affiliates and partners who will help you.

Finally, WSOTD isn't an "award". It's a promotion from Mike. There are plenty of WSO's that don't use WSO Pro and are just as good or better than any he picks. There are also plenty of "WSO of the XXX" Sites out there that give the same "accolades" - but are just smaller in list size.

But none of them imply a quality product. They exist to sell products. That's it.

    Rob

I have to agree with the others. The WSOTD is picked based on which WSO Mike thinks will bring in the most revenue for his business as an affiliate (which he is free to use as his criteria), not necessarily which WSO is the best product or will produce the best results for buyers.

Otherwise, you wouldn't see "Make $x,xxx on Facebook in 24 hours" offers with no income proof being given the label of WSOTD. No disrespect to Mike intended at all, as I think he has a great business going - but you wouldn't.

    Hi Tony.

I understand your sentiments. This is not the first thread here about it, nor, do I suspect, will it be the last.

However: the WSO of the Day, as anybody with a pulse will realize, is highly subjective. Only Mike Lantz knows why certain WSOs are given the designation, while others are not.

As for Martin, and his vast amount of WSO of The Day awards: I think it is pretty simple. Martin has all but perfected the system and can easily do a five-figure launch here because of the following he has built. Additionally, all of his products are typically top-notch. Why would Mike Lantz not jump on the "bandwagon" to make an incredibly easy wad of cash?

In the end, if you don't agree with the picks, then do not pay attention to them. I know I don't because I put absolutely no weight into the whole process. I pick WSO's based on my own criteria and how they fit into my business model ... not what somebody else things is the "offer of the day." 99% of the time, I disagree with what should be the "offer of the day" based solely on my own expectations and needs.

In my opinion, the WSO Of the Day recognition is given based on what the picker perceives to be the product that is going to make him the most amount of cash for that day ... simply put.

Thanks for the prompt replies, I agree with all as I know business and the intent etc and I also respect Martin's incredible success.

I just felt that someone who controls the listings in that way maybe shouldn't manipulate them so blatantly as there would be far greater reward in the end through honesty and transparency.

I welcome the debate and alas understand that this is the power of well....power!

I expect to see this thread nuked, but here is the deal.

WSO Of The Day is only a cleverly named mailing list. It has no connection to the Warrior Forum, other than the shared "Warrior" name.

WSOoTD is selected by one criteria, and one criteria only.

Mike asks himself which product he believes will make him the most money. Then he runs.

Like it or not, Warrior Plus is his site, and the WSO of The Day mailings are on his list.

Mike can do anything he wants to do on that list that he built.

So long as it continues to remain effective for him, he will keep doing as he is doing.

And so long as he owns the business, Mike will be the one making the decision, despite what you think is the "right thing" to do.

I would encourage you to read the message below the WSO Of the day on WarriorPlus.com, here.

WSO of the Day is a feature of WarriorPlus that helps you uncover great deals on top-selling and top-quality offers from the WSO Forum. WSO of the Day is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Warrior Forum.

I don't think it is all about the profit -- obviously that plays a part in his decision but if he promoted based solely on what product will make him the most money then his list would probably have burnt out by now.

Also you need to understand it is WSO of the Day... this is something people fail to realize. He is not saying it is the greatest WSO since sliced bread. What he IS saying is that WSO is the best pick from that day. Sometimes I would imagine he struggles to find a WSO he wants to promote but because it is called 'WSO of the Day' and not 'WSO that I recommend' then he has to choose one and run with it. Some days the product will be better than others, obviously.
