How to find out if my JV partner is full of CRAP without confronting him outright?
Someone contacted me recently, asking me if I'd broker JVs for him for a launch he's doing. A ''well-known'' Jeff Walker trained launch manager (who's on board) recommended me. I don't know both of these people. (I took a LONG break from marketing online.)
Following are a few of the things he stated:
-He said he hired Frank Kern to help with the launch. He also said that Kern has a small list?
-He'll be interviewing Tim Ferris. Tim is very hard to reach, and he works very little. How can this ''unknown'' person (as far as I can tell from the little research I've done) convince Tim to give up some of his time?
-Eben Pagan and ''20 other big names'' will be promoting it.
Now his product is a live online seminar/coaching event, plus a seminar in the U.S. He has not been able to give me much content to review. How can guys like Pagan promise to endorse something they haven't seen (apart from a mindmap covering the subjects and a video doing essentially the same thing?)
DAYS after the mindmap and video, I finally got access to another video and report. The video is OK. The report has potential, but it is horrible to say the least. There are more grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes than you could shake a stick at, and it is nebulous.
Some people have tried to mislead me in the past in order to get me on board, get free consulting advice, etc. I am not sure how to figure out if this guy is legit or not, without calling his bluff and potentially hurting our burgeoning relationship.
What would you do?
Thanks for your help.
