What are your thoughts on PR web?

So I just signed up for HARO which I heard is a good website for PR.

I was then contacted through HARO by pr web, usually I hate those sales calls. But it actually seemed good, when I searched their article database all their articles were listed on major blogs and websites.

So it seems like it may be worth the $ for a press release. Its a bit pricy though, like $100-300.

Has anyone else used them and if so what did you think?

By the way this is the site:
prweb.com

A well-written press release that's timely and newsworthy is very much worth the money. Prweb. com is one channel I'll always recommend. Word of caution, however. Because this site is so successful at what it does, you'll need to prepare your business prior to distributing your news (meaning, your server for potential crashes, your customer service dept., etc.). The traffic from this source can be overwhelming.

PRWeb is the leading company for paid distribution, with prweb you get to most value for your dollar for sure. Your release will be posted on sites like Yahoo News and many other good high quality news outlets.

But the success of your press release is your press release yourself, if your release is not newsworthy enough your chances of getting really good results is slim.
And JOSourcing also gave you a good tip, always be prepared that if your press release is getting picked up by the media that your website/business can handle the traffic.

Ok, great thanks for letting me know.

I will definately keep the inventory and customer service thing in mind.

Now I just need to find a good writer, I guess I'll try fiverr.

I use fiverr myself for a lot of stuff and it is great, but you get were you pay for. I don't think you will get a high quality press release for just $5. I mean even a good writer takes around 2 to 3 hours to write a good release (finding a good media angle, doing research, writing the release, proofreading).
