US Domains investment

Why US domains are so hard to sell? i have 14 us domains , most of them made from 2 keywords and average search on google .. but no offerts ..

And i have this dilemma : on google.com ( i believe is for us citizens mostly, am i right ? ) ..on most random chosen keywords, the US domains are so rare on the first 10 pages .. i actually never saw a US name placed on the first place on a specific keyword. How is this possible? if i choose for example .be version of google and type some random words , most of the webpages are .be

      I agree.

They also don't "usually" rank well. Plus, .us isn't really a prominent extension, like .com or .org. If it was one of those, I doubt you would have any issues getting rid of them.

I once tried to buy one (and it was a really storming name!) but when I read the details of who's allowed to register them, it turned out I wasn't eligible.

This is true, but it isn't necessarily evidence of their ranking badly.

It's probably evidence of the facts that (a) not many have been issued yet, compared with .com's and so on, and (b) marketers (i.e. "people who want sites to rank well") aren't using them nearly as often as other extensions. In other words, it may speak to a relative lack of interest in them rather than to any disadvantage accruing from them. After all, .info domains rank just as well and as easily as .com's do, but you also don't see so many of those at the top of the rankings - and for exactly those same reasons. In other words, it's not that people can't rank them; it's just that they're not often trying. Probably.

They can rank well if you do the SEO, but I don't buy them. I don't like them and given the availability of a lot of keywords in .us extensions, I'm not alone. I sell a lot of my sites and .us just isn't a popular extension.

.us had started gaining steam maybe 4-6 years ago but then dropped off quite a bit. They still might be fine for some local businesses but not really for much else.
