What Is The Best Statement You Have Read?

I wonder what you would class as the statement that best describes IM.. when I first started learning about IM two years ago (I had been running my own social media company) my mentor told me something that I will never forget

"Don't Play Games That You Don't Understand"
What he meant by this was that I was trying to do too much too quickly, trying everything possible to make the big bucks however it all went wrong and the reason for that was because I did not know what I was doing and tried to set up this site and that site without actually researching the niche and without monetizing my site etc.

So if I could give any small piece of advice to a newbie or someone struggling to make money online it would be that - "don't pay games that you do not understand"

Take your time to research and make sure you know how to do something before you actually do it.. I learned the hard way but I now reap the rewards :-)

Thanks,
Allan

    Listen, learn, then do.

It seems like you can get stuck with information overload. There is no shortage of resources. Find people that consistently give good advice. Learn from them, and then use that information to formulate a plan and then...do the plan.

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.

    George,

"If at first you don't succeed....don't take up ski-diving" can't remember who said it or even why. But I've always found it amusing.

There are two quotations I like in particular:

    1. A quitter never wins and a winner never quits. (From Think and Grow Rich is it I think?)

    2. Failing to plan is like planning to fail. (Someone wise said it, do not know who exactly).

I'm a newbie and I have been reading, reading and reading. Now, I'm trying to get my feet wet in forums. Most of what everyone said above is true. Question? Does anyone know of free advertising on the Internet.
