Paid Traffic getting subs but 1 of 10 confirmed

Any way to resend confirmation email and any way to try and salvage the other 9 possible subs?

If they entered their email address but did not confirm the email, I dont think you can resend. I know aweber allows you to turn off double optin though. This helps you avoid the confirmation problem.

It basically turns the autoresponder to single optin.

Yes, they opted in for a reason. To get whatever the freebie was. No, they didn't confirm for a reason. Because they don't want to receive emails from you OR they entered a false email address.

Either way I would not suggest sending any further emails to those people. If they did not take action on the confirm email then it's time to let them go.

If you want to get around the problem you are much better off just setting up a single optin list AND on your squeeze page, make it clear that they will be receiving the freebie via email. It sounds to me like you are giving them the freebie right after they optin? If so, that's your problem. People no longer have any reason to confirm. If you instead send them to a page that says they need to confirm to get the freebie then your results should be better.

true... Was just working on a double optin list though...

    Thanks for the help though...

Wait a minute... Since I do have their emails in aweber still do you think it would be ethical to offer added value such as a simple wp site set up or a half hours consultation to get them to confirm?

Yeah, I think you have the right to do that. I assume they tried to opt in for a reason, so following up may actually get them to confirm.

    Hmmm. Thanks.

What do you think about offering a package of scripts I call the ultimate optin code and an interview I was in for them to confirm?

You can always switch to single opt in...

Matter of fact I put the freebie url in the confirmation url area on aweber for my list to ensure that they confirm first before getting access to the site.

    Any other suggestions?

So what page are they taken to when they subscribe? Also, it would be handy to see your squeeze page. It could be the wording on the squeeze page that is leading people to believe they will get access to the product right away.

As I said above, you need to make it clear BEFORE they enter their email address that the freebie will be sent to their email. This way people are more likely to put in a genuine email address if they truly want what it is you have to offer.

The answer is switch to single opt-in.

There are multiple threads about it. In almost everyone I've read single opt-in wins hands down by people who actually test this stuff.

I agree and it's what I use for most of my lists HOWEVER if you don't word the squeeze page correctly then you will still end up with a big list of fake email addresses that can't be emailed, so it doesn't always solve the problem.

The problem here is either one of two things:

          1) The way the squeeze page is worded, people are expecting to get access to the freebie on the next page. Thus they are just entering random email addresses to get to the freebie.

          2) The freebie being offered does not have a high enough perceived value. People might be entering their correct email addresses but when they see they need to confirm, the value of the freebie is not enough to convince them to confirm. You need to remember it is a trade. These people are giving you access to their email address only because they think they are getting something even more valuable. In this case, maybe the freebie is not as valuable as it needs to be.

Heres the site/squeeze page acassassin.com they were being taken to the login page where they could access it via facebook but realized that i had to change the setting in the web form section to their smart video instead of custom url. Let me know what you think on the wording for the page.

I am using get response and it's possible to resend that email. You just have to wait for 24 hours from their signing up.

You should switch to single opt-in, especially for paid traffic.
