My goal of a 7,000 person list.

So I am beginning my Internet marketing career. I have decided or would be a good idea to do some affiliate work for click bank to get my foot in the door. But I have some issues.

I know building a list is extremely important. But how am I supposed to build a list if my marketing will consist of articles that will then send people directly to the product page? Should I use a free gift? Or can I still be successful without a free gift? And still build a list without a gift? How would I get people to sign up then?!

My goal is to have a list of 7,000 in 8 months. Crazy. But you gotta risk it to get the biscuit.

Thanks,
Pete

Why 7,000? That is a very specific number?

I generate most of my traffic via ad swaps, solos and other mostly paid methods. This seems to be the best method to grow my list fast.

I don't know of any way to grow a list if you do not send your traffic to a opt in page before an oto or affiliate sales type page/funnel. Once on your list you can use e-mail marketing to develop a relationship with your subscribers and generate affiliate sales while providing high value content to your list members.

      Hope this helps

maybe in his world - it's over 7000 instead of over 9000.

jokes aside - The percentage of profits from the # of subscribers vary by the strength of your list and the repore you developed.

Some ideas for your questions: Compose or hire someone to write fun/informative articles for you; CPA offers, etc. You are trying to build a relationship with your list so don't jam them with marketing urls.

The bulk of your traffic doesn't have to come from paid advertising alone. You can easily build up a nice sized list with free marketing. And by the end of the year, you can reach your goal of 7000 people.

I do use some advertising (like Warrior Forum signatures)... but it's very light advertising. If you're going to do pay per click.... stick with Adwords and Microsoft Adcenter. Make sure you're turning a profit or at least breaking even. At this point you have no idea of what the average lifetime of a customer is in your business.

    Hi Pete,

You need to capture the email before you send the person to the merchant.

Actually the best method to build a list is this:

    1. Find out what people need (hint: search on the Warrior Forum what people buy in the WSO section)

    2. Create a product that answers what people want to know

    3. List product as WSO (giving 100% commsion).

Now you have a list of people who bought from you!

These same people will buy again and again and again.

This answer looks simple but it works!!!

I 100% agree here. A list of people who bought from you is better than a list full of freebie seekers.

Although I actually have found a way to utilize Facebook for free to build my list. Suprisingly enough I never thought the conversions would be any good but they are insane!

Thanks do much for the replies. I've heard that strategy before so I'll definitely try it out. Thanks do much! =]

Now for the hard part of creating a product...

That's an interesting idea hp. If you want to get a little bit more out of your product, you can include an upsell so that you can make a little money while still offering 100% commission on the front end.

You need to have a proper sales funnel set up before you start sending a lot of traffic to your squeeze page. Yes you need some sort of free offer that would be your incentive to subscribe. Whatever that free offer is, your follow ups need to fall directly in line with that, and then your product falls directly in line with your follow ups. So it is a smooth transition from subscriber to sale.

A few of the best paid methods would be solo ads, ad swaps, ezine advertising, and banner ads.. Some free methods would be guest posting, Scribd, and forum marketing.

You can easily hit that number!

squeeze page needs setting up then you need to offer free giveaway and do ad swaps or solo ads and set up a classified ad on warrior forum or a free wso all pointing to your squeeze page.

The quality of your list will be more important then the number. For example a small list that is responsive is far better than any number of unresponsive opt ins.
