Internet Marketing Acronyms for Newbies

Hi everyone,

This probably won't be that useful for most of you, but I am brand new to the Warrior Forum, and brand new to Internet Marketing. I was feeling a little overwhelmed by all of the acronyms and abbreviations floating around on the forum.

I looked for a list or glossary explaining what all of the acronyms meant, but I couldn't find one, so I started compiling my own. Like I said, this is probably way too basic for 99.9% of you, but in case there is some one else like me, I thought I'd share my list.

Here it is:

CPA – Cost Per Action
CPC – Cost Per Click
CPL – Cost Per Lead
CPM – Cost Per Mille (Thousand)
CTR – Click Through Rate
CPS – Cost Per Sale
eCPM = Effective Cost Per Mille (Thousand)
EPC – Earnings Per Click
IM – Internet Marketing
MFA = Made For Adsense - sites created purely to make money with Adsense
MMO - Make Money Online
MRR - Master Resell Rights
OP - Original Poster
OTO - One Time Offer
PFP = Pay For Performance
PLR – Private Label Rights
PPC – Pay Per Click
PPL – Pay Per Lead
PPS – Pay Per Sale
PPV – Pay Per View
PR – Page Rank
PV = Page Views
ROI - Return On Investment
SEO – Search Engine Optimization
SERP – Search Engine Results Page
SMM = Social Media Marketing
TLD = Top Level Domain
UV = Unique Visitors
WSO – Warrior Special Offers

    Nice post, wish that I'd seen it before I started and felt stupid asking what some of those meant!

    MMO - Make money online is another one I got confused by to begin with if you wanna add it to the list

    ROI - Return On Investment

    There you go. Now do a few hours of research until you come up with 101 of the most common acronyms for newbies and turn it into a special report you give away free as a teaser for list building.

    Great post for newbies. I'll bookmark it so that in the future, when other newbies ask, I can refer them to this.

    I remember not knowing what people were saying when they said OP or WSO on this forum way back when??? ;-)

    Really, I still believe that newbies can find everything they need to know if they just searched this forum.

      Nice list Randy, when I see MMO I think two things, Make Money Online and Massively Multiplayer Online (Role Playing Games) which internet marketing sometimes feels like, one big game.

      Here's a few more to add:

      MFA = Made For Adsense - sites created purely to make money with Adsense
      UV = Unique Visitors
      TLD = Top Level Domain
      SMM = Social Media Marketing
      PV = Page View/s
      PFP = Pay For Performance
      eCPM = Effective Cost Per Mille (Thousand)
