How does TAGGING on AMAZON work???

Hello fellow warriors,

How does tagging on AMAZON work?

Is is that the more tags a book/ebook has the more exposure AMAZON will give it for that tag? I guess that means more sales.

Now I have been hearing conflicting things about tagging. Some people say anyone can tag a book and it will count. Others say, only people who made a PURCHASE on amazon will have the tags count just like it is with reviews.

Which is it?

Finally, is tagging something which can be outsourced? If so, any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

Tags are public by default and can be managed under a “your tags” area that I am failing to find. You must first select a “Real Name” (odd choice of names given the old company called RealNames). Once you’ve signed up and started adding tags, you can delete them or make them private in the management area.

Amazon tags will make it easier for you and others to find relevant content. I wonder how they are going to handle spam tagging and other bad content, though?. Another, possibly more interesting feature would be to allow publisher tagging. The tags would likely be more relevant (and spam easier to track).

  • But do tags count if you didn't make an amazon purchase? Can anyone tag?

As long as you have an active amazon account, which means you've made at least one purchase on amazon, you can tag any product listing on amazon.
