Co.CC subdomains are back!

I was wondering if they can be ranked and be done for SEO purposes. Well I put in Google site:co.cc and there was lot of co.cc domains and I have seoquake for me to look at the competition of the pages. Well I took the first website that was listed and it got a page rank of a 1 and had well over 1000 backlink's. So if you guys don't have money for a domain you can get one at co.cc ( non referral link ). But for SEO purpose I know a lot of warriors would say go with a .com domain or even a .info domain if your on a budget. I would recommend a .com, but I dont have the money to buy at the moment. I just wanted to give y'all a heads up that a co.cc domain can be done with SEO.

      Does this make sense to you? Is there ANY legally exixting domain that google can just wake up and deny without getting sued?

        Show me a .cc that is ranking in the search engines for ANY keyword. Adarme, yes they can.

        Also flatbro, whether a site has backlinks or not isn't really an issue. The issue is can they rank? .TK domains were removed as well.

          If by keyword, you mean a search query which may contain more than one keyword, then that's easy. Just find some sites on the .co.cc subdomain that have free public visitor trackers and notice where their visitors come from.

          Journeypost.co.cc is one such site I found by searching Google.

          Here is a public visitor log for that site where you can clearly see that people are arriving at Journeypost.co.cc from Google SERPS.

        Google is a private company, they can show or not show in their directory and SERP just whatsoever their owners and managers wish to show or hide.

    I checked this out, didn't realize it existed. But I couldn't find any that showed up in a search on Google. Can you give an example?

    Never use .cc or Tk or any weird domain extension .. stick with .com/net/org/info/co , honestly I don't understand when people say they are on a budget and can't get a domain.. I understand life is tough..and its not as easy as it seems..

    but 10$ won't change u r life..its not like u r going broke because of the 10$! also alot of providers have coupons for domains but the worst case would be paying 15$ so if u want a business then be ready for at least paying for the domain! cmon..

    I believe that they can rank, but many internet marketers would prefer to buy a .info/.com etc.. extensions ( which I would recommend, even though I havent bought mine yet ). But for now I will use an extension and see if I can get it ranked!

    According to this (CO.CC Domains Now Back In Google Search Results) Google reintroduced .co.cc domains back into the SERPs around the end of December.

    Another thing: ".co.cc" isn't a real TLD; ".cc" is the actual TLD, and someone registered the website "http://co.cc" and gives you a subdomain of that.

      Matt is right. Google has to date never just de-indexed an entire TLD. All Google did in this case was de-index a single domain: CO.CC - Free Domain name registration + Free DNS service..

      It would be like if they removed www.tumblr.com from their index.

      That being said, even though they apparently reinstated co.cc, I would be really hesitant to put anything useful to my business that will rely on search engine traffic on one of these subdomains. It might be free, but Google wiped them out once. They can do it again.

    Yeah, I have to agree with the above. Why would anyone put something so important into the hands of others when it's really not that necessary? If you're making any kind of money whatsoever you can surely afford the <$10 (even 99 cents if you catch a deal) yearly price for a domain.

    If you can't make a positive ROI on that $10 in a year then you might as well give up on IM anyway. :p

    If you have to get a free sub domain, get one that doesn't have a history of being blacklisted.
