Help with websites/hosting in general

INTERNET MARKETING

Hello everyone, I am a complete newbie when it comes to creating a good wesbite. I actually have only used wordpress on hosting so I don't know jack about making a website any other way. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to learn about websites and how exactly to make them and maintain them. I have hostgator hosting but all I know how to do is make websites using wordpress. I want to learn how to make landing pages etc. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated

You need to study first the basic HTML then use a software like nvu(free), psp pad editor (free), frontpage or dreamweaver.

Go to w3schools.com to learn HTML.

I'd say start by searching for free website templates on google and use one of those as a starting point to work with in Nvu - or take a closer look at your Hostgator hosting as I'm sure they include a free website building tool that will let you create some simple pages. All you need a one nice basic landing page template of your own and you can adapt that for many uses.

Pick up a good book on HTML and CSS from Amazon.com. You can buy a used one real cheap.

You can also search youtube for help, if you don't find it there pm me and I can give you free videos and web building software.
