How do you make money selling an single thing?

recently I read a warrior forum post of how one made a million dollar in commission by selling a bridge and another guy selling a single microscope.So how do you find these type of affilate programmes.

        Dude, how many bridges do you think are for sale? And of that number, how many are bridges that are being sold through a third party to earn commission? And of that number, how many bridges will be available for you to sell?

        The answer is zero. None. There's no bridges for you to sell today, tomorrow, next week, or ever.

        While I haven't read the other post, ignore the items for sale. Pay attention to the concept.

        The concept is:

        Find the MOST EXPENSIVE products that you can find and promote those. The higher the sale price, the higher the commission your earn.

        So if you were an Amazon affiliate, you'd do a search for expensive items -- say a hot tub that sells for $4,000.00. Sell the hot tub, earn $400 commission.

    Willie Crawford is in that thread so it must be good. As for the bridge it could be a medical dental bridge, but surely not a regular road bridge!

    There are high ticket items on Amazon you can sell as an affiliate and you could go to Commission Junction and see what they have.

      An $11 million medical dental bridge? LOL

      I think it's a "real" bridge, but that's something not at all realistic for your average go lucky IMer to attempt to broker.

    But go for selling stuff that people want and is expensive, so you get more money from the commission obviously.

      The problem is now-a-days is that there's large competition on the internet for promoting and selling products, and it's usually very hard to defeat some of the bigger sites in terms of sales.

    Contact companies.

    I knew a guy in Australia who was a matchmaker.

    For example, he found a company in Italy who make leather chairs. He called them and worked out a deal where he found buyers and took a percentage.

    He then contacted Virgin Air and asked if they wanted leather chairs for their departure lounges.

    Virgin Air said, "Sure, I'll have some in X lounges."

    Italian company shipped product; he hired people to set them up; he collected cash from Virgin Air.

    Job done. Next project.
