Your application is declined because the advertiser took a look at your profile and your site and decided that they didn't want you to promote for them. Often, this has something to do with lack of content on the site etc. or something that would give the impression you wouldn't be a very good affiliate for them. Of course, it doesn't have to mean that - I'm sure all advertisers have their individual reasons.

Unless you can think of something obvious about why they don't want you to promote, you're best to send them a nice email explaining who you are, your experience as an affiliate marketer, why you would like to promote for them and why you would be a good affiliate for them. You can also ask why you have been rejected for promoting for them.

I've managed to build up a good relationship with many advertisers this way - not so much on CJ but on other platforms. It really helps to contact them personally so they know more about you and your experience.

There's actually NOTHING you can do about this as it stands.

Why?

Remember when you signed up for Commission Junction and filled in all that information? For example, information about your website, its content, and so fourth? The information that you gave initially is what's being used by advertisers (the products that you want to promote) to see if you're a right fit for them or not...

...and it's done INSTANTLY. The advertisers (well, some of them) have their approval process on auto pilot -- they've preselected certain guidelines that they are looking for. When you apply, the information that you gave initially is automatically checked by the advertisers' standards/guidelines and you're either automatically approved or denied.

The fact of the matter is some advertisers don't want you promoting their products because they want their products only on certain sites. For example, a lot of credit card offers want to be on financial themed sites -- not a movie site or a website about plants (for example).

Other times you'll notice you are AUTOMATICALLY approved for some programs. The same process occurred: your initial information automatically matched the preselected guidelines of that program.

Other times, you apply for a program, and you must wait for the program to manually approve you. That means somebody from the company is going to actually check your website/blog out and approve or deny you based upon if they think you're a correct fit for them or not.

Sadly, again, in your situation, there's little to nothing that you can do. You're only option is to keep applying to programs and get some approvals OR focus your content so that it's more geared towards the programs that you're trying to promote (the programs, however, don't let you in on what their guidelines are).

It's because you haven't made a sale yet. Happened to me and after researching it turns out most sellers on there make it mandatory that you're an active, productive member. That's all.
