Affiliate Marketing targetting foreign lands

How many of you targeting people in areas outside the country you live in to get sales?

With the amount of competition in certain parts of the world, is it a smart option to start targeting other countries where perhaps it is easier to get a larger proportion of affiliate sales?

I would love to hear from all of you. Thanks

Even if somebody has a "language barrier", it's wise to promote products in other countries.

If I write an eBook in English, I always translate it into German for example. Why? I've taken the time to create one product in one language, and then by translating it into another language, I've just expanded my sales market.

It you are able to expertly read and write in a second language, you're limiting your sales by not offering your English products in another language.

I do the same for ClickBank products as well. I have websites that are both English and German -- and I've found that promoting products in both markets is a win-win every time.

Good post and good question to ask. It's something that everybody should think about because while you might have huge competition for selling one of your eBooks in the English market, you might find that in another market (French, German, Arabic, etc.) your product could dominate due to low competition.

I live in the UK and target the US because of the ridiculous law coming into force in the EU regarding cookies

Do you think it would more profitable to focus on those already tapped countries, or maybe places with a little less competition but less buyers as well?

Great to hear from somebody who is targeting two markets. I do think a lot of bilingual people do not take advantage of their skills and merely end up losing out on potential cash.

That is a good idea actually. English speakers have been swamped with all kinds of eBooks - if one could simply translate it, the demand for these books could increase exponentially. Thanks for your input

That's interesting. I guess those countries are good places to target. The only things I wonder about are whether there are any buyers in those countries? I have heard that a majority of people in those countries (specifically India, but probably applies to others as well) are not comfortable purchasing things on the internet.

There are huge untapped markets just in foreign languages and ethnicity as well. For example, over the past few months I have been translating some of my sites, articles and autoresponders into Spanish and Italian. Not only have these been reaching harder to target US ethnic markets, but those in other major countries as well. In addition, non-English sites seem to rank quickly into top positions even in the most competitive niches.

While most target the USA I think this will change as the economic situation changes american buying habbits, and to survive we will have to go to other markets. The obvious market is China as there are more people online than there are people in America and there is a growing middle class with money to spend on luxery goods. It will call for new skills, but isn't life about learning and earning a little cash on the way.

I've noticed that I tend to get a large percentage of refunds and fraudulent orders from countries where the population tends to be poorer.

I think it`s best to stick to the first world countries, because they are the ones who buy.

I think it is good to do the US and other English speaking countries because you do not have to translate and have different versions of the same product. I am currently working on a system for Germans and Americans to work together as partners to help each other Translate products and services and also help with Laws and Regulations. It will be in Germany.

I am an American and have been working with Corporations and larger businesses in Europe for many years and friends lead me here. I have found many plugins, systems and ideas that have made me money. Big business knows nothing of the Internet Marketing Niche and I have used that insider info. It is not my main business but it has saved my a... more than a few times.

After friends and business partners aksed me to do this for the 1 million`th time :-) I finally thought it over and said OK... lets do it. I think it would be great for Americans to be able to sell there products to a new market and for Germans to do the same. At the moment there is no real connection between the two. But we are going to change that. We want to create a system where each side profits from the other and helps and promotes products unknown in thier Market.

I would love to hear what people think here. I have already got offers from over 1000 people for products from the US to the German Market and about half that many in Germany who wnat to sell here by WarriorForum. It will be good to see Germans and Americans making friends and working together on projects. It will be a platform for people to meet share ideas and make money together, in Germany. I do not want to say to much but it will be a site in Germany in different languages giving a lot of you the chance to sell your products, ideas and services again to new market.

I will keep you posted. Hope to be starting end of May or first of June. Hope this helps.
