      Hi Grumpyb,

You pay the monthly fee for the use of the service - and write your own posts. They decided to also offer a writing/posting service for $2 a go.

Yes well when I am wrong I usually admit it and I am guilty here of not reading the website in full.
In my defence I hate sales pages that go on and on and on and on but I am guilty of not reading the blurb so I also just discovered that its unlimited blogs you write yourself and $2 if they write

      Hi Grumpyb,

No worries mate - it goes either of two ways - either -

      a) you can benefit from the service and if so, it's a good deal. Dave's a good guy.

      b) if not, it can be an expensive luxury.

      Your shout.

But for that price, you really should be reading closely about what you are getting for your dough.

I used it for a few months and I couldn't see much improvement in rankings so I stopped using it. That was about a year ago and the I still haven't seen any positive influence on rankings.

In my opinion it's worth much more to write articles and submit them to directories for linkbacks to your site, they have much more value.

    Well time will tell
On the face of it it seems like a great system BUT of course at these prices then there needs to be a result that can be seen and measured.
I have not seen any negative reports until the above post and I have posted here and on another forum asking for experinces from users but there has not been any replys.
I just got back the first lot of posts that their writer did and I must say they are great.
I will report back my experince as it happens as there may be others that are interested

I've been in the program since day one and so I got lifetime membership at $97. I do think it's given me benefits but I don't know if I would pay $147.

I do almost all my own posts so it costs me nothing extra. I think if you are consistent (I try to write 2 posts a day) the results will accumulate and you'll see the benefits. If you get lazy and don't keep up with it then you're throwing your money down the drain.

The benefits are hard to measure, unless this is your only means of promotion (and that's unlikely unless you're really lazy!). I've seen a lot of improvement in my SERPs since using Linkvana but I do lots of other promotion too.

If your budget is tight and you're too busy to write regular posts I would save your money. I think article marketing is probably more useful, again assuming you do it well. But if you've got the budget and you use Linkvana as a part of a multi-faceted promotion I would recommend it.

    Thanks DavidO
I am currently trying to get a couple of search terms on to page 1
we have come from "not in first 1000" to around 25-35 bouncing up and down but we cant seem to get over the last few to get there.
Its a pretty competitive term and its worth a lot to us to have it on page 1 as we currently spend 3 zeros a month on Adwords and that only covers part of the day.
So we are throwing everything at this project.
What I will do next is Launch a new site and I will simplly ONLY USE Linkvana pick say 3 search terms and and see what happens with it in the SERP.
I appreciate some feedback here as a lot of comments are so positive they look spammy and that makes one suspicous.

    Hi grumpyb,

What I will do next is Launch a new site and I will simplly ONLY USE Linkvana pick say 3 search terms and and see what happens with it in the SERP.
Just a thought, based on the question I asked myself - 'is this a wise test to carry out?'

Would a website that was collecting natural 3rd party backlinks due to it's excellent content ever receive a bunch of these backlinks with only 3 anchor phrases, all from sites that have identical common factors?

Or would it also receive some 'click here' links and some 'domain.com' anchors? Would the sites the links come from be varied? And what else? (The answers to that one are right in front of us. )

If you were designing a search engine algorithm, what would you tell it to look for to distinguish between naturally and un-naturally aquired backlinks?

(Ask yourself this question and you have the answer to 'what is the wisest approach in order to simulate natural backlinking?')

Personally, if I were working on the algorithm, I would look for certain obvious things. And then I would look at other bits of information (EG nameservers) and put it with other bits of information, and possibly 'punish' or flag other connected sites and have a look for a similar pattern/source of backlinking.

And I'm wondering if the test outlined above would actually be something that I programmed into the algorithm in order to raise a flag?

If so, I would then say to myself - 'If I am paying to have TOTAL control of the anchor text of backlinks, with many other factors involved behind the scenes designed to make these backlinks look totally unconnected (IE the stuff that Linkvana does behind the scenes) is it not wise to take advantage of this control, and for a tiny bit of extra work, work in harmony with Linkvana and make sure that every backlink looks as covincing and unconnected as possible to the people that matter (SEs) via the use of natural looking, varied anchor text?'

Plus - would I make sure to gain at least some other backlinks from totally different sources?

I'm trying not to sound too negative or anything, but to me this looks like a plan that is likely to do nothing except convince you that the backlinks/system aren't working, based on the plan being one which makes them look totally un-natural. And I would be considering probably the key element of self-administered backlinking for SEO - making it look as natural as possible, as if others were doing it purely to point to authority content.

    Hope this helps.

All they do is link to your page on PR 0-1 blogs. You can go to blogger.com and hubpages.com and do this yourself. And free.. and YES Im a former customer...

I've heard of a few people who have had good results with it but I am just too cheap to take the plunge.

My two cents. Used Linkvana for 1 month.
        1. Never saw a backlink from a blog category higher than PR0. Root of the blog usually had some PR- 1 or 2.
        2. Site I targeted had 1600 pages indexed in Google. After using Linkvana, there are now only 900 pages indexed in Google.

Maybe thats because of a user error in the use of the tool or a slap from Google for unkknow reasons.

Just facts. You decide. If I can manually identify many of the unnamed blogs, I suspect the PHDs at Google can identify all of them.
