Making a mil from Amazon with movies

Saw a thread recently about Amazon looking to open up physical stores. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ar-retail.html which could be a risky, but smart move.

Amazon certainly is willing to test new grounds but they always do it with a long-term strategy and grow shoots from their core business. One example is how Amazon bought Digital Photography Review which the nr.1. photography gear review site. Makes sense since they now have their own massive platform to market the very products they review. dPreview has always also had a excellent reputation and respect from photographers, and some of that positive glow obviously also warms Amazon as a brand. Win Win to say the least.

Same thing with the Kindle - looking ahead from print to the inevitable, they were early and made a massive hit of it. The new models have media capabilities and.. Amazon has its own movie production platform now too.

The winning test movie was just awarded one million dollars by Amazon I'm not sure what to make of it, somewhat odd format, but what do I know.

Anyway, not everybody will win a mil from their movie but just as kindle books can be a part of your marketing strategy, perhaps movies can also come to be a source of rep strengthening.

Here's Amazon Studios
Here's the one mil winning test movie

Cool stuff. I'm liking the Amazon management more and more.
