Affiliate site, blog, or site selling products?

To those of you truly seasoned veteran IMs, what has the most potential for producing a profit? Is it a site filled with affiliates (as I've seen many); a blog with affiliate banners in the sidebar (of course a hot blog with a following); or is it an online business selling products through a dropshipper? I know this is a very broad question, but one which many have asked but few have answered.

    None of the above...

    In my experience targeting your market with a combination of blog content (to attract the traffic) with a combination of in-post and side-bar links to convert some of that traffic along with special offers to build a list which you can then market to is the best combination.

    We have sites that operate marketing information products (our own and affiliates) and physical products (Amazon, CJ, Linshare, etc...)

    They all make money, my preference is infoproducts, but the same principles of using blogs and content to draw traffic and high conversion tactics on the pages to get them to buy or sign-up to your list work in either.

    A hot blog , as you say has to my humble opinion the most potential, but you you have to guide your followers gently to your offer ,and you can do that with content that is relevant to your offer! Get google to love you !
