New User Introduction, and seeking advice about monetising my blog

Hi All,
I'm glad I recently came across this forum.
I'm a long-time computer programmer who is just venturing into making money online.

I recently started a blog about safe scooter riding, and have been very encouraged by the following and interest.
My intention was to wait to establish good credibility before putting ads on the blog, but I'm finding I am getting very encouraging traffic very early on.

I do (did) have an adsense account, but am now stuck in an endless loop where I can't log in to the account, and can't retrieve my password.

I understand that Google now make it quite difficult to get a new adsense account, so I'm seeking your advice as to which PPC programme you would advise putting into this Wordpress blog, or any other suggestions you may have about the best way to monetise.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a lot of great info here.

Not to sure about Adwords or other advertising networks you can join. I've never been a fan. Have you thought about other ways to monetize? How about selling scooters, helmets and other safety equipment, and proper attire as an Amazon affiliate?

Or selling ad-space yourself.

Or working 1-on-1 with a scooter company and setting up an affiliate program. So people will see an ad on your website for a new scooter, click the ad and buy using your link, and you get a commission.

Just a couple of other options to consider. Of course some market research is required. I also recommend surveying your visitors (use surveymonkey.com for free) and see what information they're looking for and also what other relevant interests they have. Then once you get some feedback you can create and give away a report that appeals to them in exchange for them opting in to an email list.

That's where the real money is

Welcome to the forum savannah.

Dan pretty much nailed everything spot on.

Use a fb type content locker or something similar and start making fans with the traffic you get. This way you can periodically update and what not.
