HTML vs. test in Aweber

Venerable dudes and dudettes of the WF, I am using Aweber and have added some messages to go out in HTML format. Do you suggest placing the identical message in the text field below? Also, I notice many people use the 'wrap text' feature... why is that? Also, do links work in the text version? Thanks.

    Just a little bumpidy bump, if I may. I received another email from a marketer today, I think it was plain text format, not HTML... and was using the "word wrap" feature. Is there a reason everyone does that? Can you put your Aweber message in the HTML area, and then copy and paste it into the Plain text area as well? Does anything change with the links?

      I always write the follow ups in the text and copy to HTML and add links.
      In the text format links want work you have to use the URL
