What?! Are you stating that in your opinion clickbank doesn't have quality products? Gosh, IMO it has some of the MOST quality stuff I've seen online.

I haven't gotten to the promote part yet but I will use youtube and e-mail marketing for sure.

I love clickbank. Just make sure you analyse a bit what you are promoting (don't promote cra**)... I build my list and then promote stuff to them.

I do most of my clickbank affiliate promoting through review pages and youtube. I found youtube to be a secret weapon and if you can build a good list and dripfeed upcoming JV launches, it snowballs!

I'm into niche blogging and doing Search Engine Optimization. I promote a few products on Clickbank but not a lot. Make sure you do your research and promote quality products because most people who routinely purchase stuff on Clickbank know about its refund policy and will make use of it. I make most of my money from independent affiliate networks or those that pay via Paypal.

The refund rate depends on the affiliate and how the pre-selling was done.

It's true there are two or three markets with slightly higher-than-average collective refund-rates, because their products tend to be crap and/or seriously misrepresented on their sales pages, but even on those products the refund-rates vary enormously between different affiliates for the same products.

      It isn't really a "ClickBank refund-rate": it's more of an "individual affiliate's refund-rate".

The easy and reliable refund-guarantee is what makes it easy to sell huge numbers of their products.

I'm embarrassed to sound arrogant/smug about it, which isn't my intention at all, but I can't remember my last refund.

The reality is that it all depends on the quality of your traffic and pre-selling.

Products which have a high refund-rate across all their affiliates are quickly removed from the Marketplace because they lose ClickBank money in administrative and processing costs.

While Alexa hit most of the points on this, there are others to consider.

I have a product I sell with "no" pre-sell. Now, the offer is EXTREMELY targeted, but the only promotion I do is with banner ads.

      My refund rate is 1.7%

IM products tend to refund highly, but the rest is up to the affiliate and the type of traffic they send to the product.

Virtually all of my Clickbank sales are through recommendations in email promotions. The refund policy of Clickbank is heavily emphasized throughout all of my marketing contact points. Using this double whammy of personal recommendations along with a prominently displayed unconditional money-back guarantee makes an unbeatable combination of extremely high conversion rates and negligible refunds.

I love clickbank. More than any other IM platform actually. The thing about refunds you should note is that if you sell products in the IM/MMO niche you will typically see higher refund rates. I usually sell outside of that niche and I've had 3 refunds out of over 20 sales.

thats a 15% refund rate, i'd say that quite high, no?

Compared to a lot of IM/make money online products. Not really. Reason being is I believe buyers in the IM niche are pretty familiar with Clickbank and the very easy and generous refund policy.

On the other hand I also think those same people are more likely to whip out their credit cards and give a Clickbank product a try.

Based on the refund policy clickbank has i cant see how selling any clickbank products could be sustainable. All clickbank products have a shelf life that is usually pretty short.

I have sold some in the past but it was just extra money , doesnt appeal to me based on the refund policy and most of the products are repackaged garbage aimed to take advantage of newbies that think you can push 2 buttons and make 34,123/hr lol
    am i wrong ?

anyone out there actually making 3-5k a month using clickbank ?

The products you are talking about are just the MMO products, but there are lots of products on Clickbank that are nothing to do with this niche, and are good quality, long term products that do have low refund rates.

So if you choose the right products, and promote them in the right way, it absolutely is a sustainable business, and can consistently make 3-5k+ a month.

      You mean it seriously, Fraser?!

I think there are (at least) few thousand people building very solid, stable, reliable, gradually increasing businesses based on selling ClickBank products who might see that rather differently.

It's the refund policy, and the way I use that in my pre-selling to targeted traffic, that enables me to sell between 600 and 700 ClickBank products per month (and gradually growing). I can't remember my last refund.

      You've checked all 15,000?!

Or are you perhaps thinking of 1 or 2 niches and ignoring another 499 or 498, in making this astonishing statement?!

Then please excuse my mentioning that many of us here, who have been rather more successful with it, and are making a living from it, feel exactly the opposite, on that point.

I wouldn't be able to build my business without ClickBank's refund policy being something like what it is. For those of us succeeding, that's its great strength.

Note that that doesn't mean we get many refunds - just that we couldn't make the sales without the refund policy being stated as it is.

Yes - since you ask: totally, completely, and absolutely wrong.

You're thinking of one niche and ignoring 499 others, I think?

I'm earning far more than that, and have been for three years out of the just over three years that I've been doing this. And increasing month by month (apart from December, in my case, which was actually worse than November, not better).

And that's true for many other people here, too.

Fraser: Clickbank can be VERY lucrative if you go into the niches that do not deal with MMO ( ... as Alexa pointed out). Trust me.

Strict product selection criteria (and no IM/MMO/forex), article syndication, niche sites, list-building, email marketing: one-post summary here. It did take me over 4 months to get to $3,000 per month - mostly because I had no idea what I was doing when I started, and believed a lot of forum "information" that turned out to have come from the Urban Myth School of internet marketing ("SEO division") - but it's really, really not that difficult. Sure there's a learning-curve, as with anything, but once you understand the fundamentals, it really does work.

I think you just described at least 75% of all WSOs here and there seems to be a steady market for it still

Hi Everyone; thanks Alexa for your Califlower soup niche maximization link -- I'm totally studying it.

RE: Clickbank -- every day my Spyware Terminator runs a scan and reports an affiliate link which I hate to delete, but do anyway because I have no proof it's a safe cookie. Two questions:

            1. If other people are doing this, doesn't that mean a loss of time-lag affiliate income and

            2. Do I (or we) really need to kill these cookies?

            Thoughts appreciated. Thanks lots.

              I think so, yes.

That's one of the possible ways of "losing the benefit of your affiliate cookie". :p

And also yet another of the reasons it's so important to opt people in and send them fresh links by autoresponder email - either masked hoplinks or links to a page on your own site where there are masked hoplinks.

There are quite a few actually who are achieving this level on a daily basis. By building niche lists using the methods mentioned, you can promote CB products to subscribers over a period of months or even years.

The best way to promote clickbank products is to build a list of highly targeted prospects, teach them a little about what they want to know and refer them to an authority course or tool that will help them make the execution easier.

On clickbank, I've never made any money being an affiliate for other products. I started making massive sales when I used clickbank to hire affiliates for my business and gave 75% for selling my products. That's how I use it now among others including Commission Junction.
