You Tube CTR - What do you think?

I have just started doing lots of videos linking straight to my money site sales page. Suprisingly I have gotton quite alot of views on some videos without doing anything other than putting them on YouTube.

The thing is in my Google Anaytics I do not see "You Tube" under this site, all I do see is my articles directories and something saying "direct" which I guess could be people typing in my URL directly from my videos???

Nodody then seems to be clicking on the link underneath the video otherwise I guess "You Tube" would show up as a traffic source in Analytics. Does this sound about right?

Lastly I typically get about a 25-40% CTR for my articles, what sort of CTR is typical for Videos, I know it can be less but I hope time spent with Videos is still worthwhile??

Any comments appreciated.

Expect less than 1% CTR for the links below a standard video. If you promise something in the video that can only be seen on your site, the CTR will skyrocket.

Wow ...1%, I am just wondering then if I should stick to artilces!!? Yes I do actually promise a Free Guide in my videos so hope that will help.

Am I right in saying that the fact that I cannot see "You Tube" in my analytics indicates that nobody has clicked on my link below the video but the fact that I have over 100 hits in "direct" traffic may mean people are typing in URL from my videos as it appears in them 3-4 times. I just want to make sure I can figure a way where I can vaguely see that my video efforts are worthwhile.

Depends entirely on the content of the video and the 'call to action' at the end. I'm getting very good CLR with my YT videos, but they target a hungry market, offer great content and have a powerful 'call to action'. Putting up dozens of generic slideshow type videos that are optimized well may get 'views' for a keyword, but that doesn't mean anyone is actually watching the video through to the end and taking action. I recommend you concentrate of providing great content (3 mins max) and an irresistible 'call to action'. Leave them wanting more
