Hi, how many of you have had experience with this company?

I am thinking of choosing them as a web host for my online store, so they need to be top notch. I might just go with GoDaddy's hosting plans.

But if the reviews are good, then I'll buy some Bluehost hosting.

Thanks.

Let me google that for you

Also try "Bluehost sucks" and "GoDaddy hosting sucks", and then sign up with Hostgator.

I recommend HostGator and Dreamhost. Just Google GoDaddy and I'm sure you'll quickly learn a whole new range of swearwords and profanities.

    Thinking of going with HostGator.

Is their customer support service any good at all?

      Are they secure?

A lot of other reviews are saying they aren't the best hosting company...

Hostgator has Really REALLY good customer support. I basically learned how to install and develop a Wordpress site because of Hostgator support. You have to be patient because their responses take anywhere from 1-5 mins but it is the correct information.

I have Hostgator AND Bluehost accounts, so I feel I'm qualified to give you a relatively unbiased opinion.

For me, Hostgator has better uptime and support, and Bluehost has better facilities to prevent your account from being temporarily disabled if you exceed CPU limits.

Great choice going with HostGator. You saved yourself many headaches by not using godaddy.

I currently use them for a domain name. Never actually been on much so can't comment on them very much, But I'd heard their hosting is terrible.

You can google just about anything and add "sucks" on the end and you'll find bad reviews. Almost all the cheap hosting companies are decent, but some lack in features and server response rate. Just don't go with GoDaddy imo, they have security issues.

    What plan should I choose?

I'm thinking the baby plan because it suits my eCommerce needs.

Take baby plan over hatchling if you want to use multiple domains or dedicated IP. Otherwise there is no difference.

If you require add-on domains then yes go with the Baby plan. If you need a dedicated IP address for private SSL you can either add one to the Baby plan or go for the Business Plan which comes with a dedicated IP address and also a toll free phone #.

I used Bluehost for a while and found them to be a quality, reliable service BUT if I had any questions, they just didn't really answer them. I found myself asking Hostgator my questions and they answered them even though I was not a customer. I am now with HG and really happy.

In most cases, people who have used these 3 web hosts haven't used anything but them, so they don't know what a well performing environment is like.

All three of these web hosts are NOTORIOUS for overloading their environments, and BLueHost is no exception.

I did watch the "review video" above, and coincidentally that user had BlueHost affiliate links all over the place, which leads me to believe that's why they're getting a good review, and even posted his affiliate link in the thread.

My advice to you: If it's on a "top 10" list, find another company. 99.9% of the time they are on that top 10 list because of their affiliate payout, not quality of service.

As far as hosting is concerned I really have to recommend EZP.net

Small canadian hosting company, but really awesome guys who run it. So reliable.

They are particularly good if you want to run any adult sites. No questions asked.

I'm a webdeveloper and I work with many hosting companies for my clients, for more then 7 years, so I may say I have some experience and encountered many problems.
If there is one company I wouldn't recommend is 1 and 1.

Good hosts are many, but for my own websites I chose HostGator - awesome support.

I use bluehost for some of my sites. Usually when I use wordpress because they have a nice plugin you can use that makes things easier. I've never had any issues with them. As with every big company not just in the hosting niche you will find bad reviews because most people who give reviews are mad. The happy ones usually don't, but that doesn't mean you will have bad experiences.

My experience with Hostgator support was always good. They helped me when I didn't understand things about web sites. Even when I couldn't explain things well due to my lack of internet vocabulary, they got me through my problems.

I haven't tried Bulehost and can't comment on it.
