Hi SocialMediaOwls,

I do not have a landing page yet. I have a Domain and Host set up, with no design yet. After choosing my domain in the Destination Wedding Niche, I realized I didnt have enough monthly global searches to apply it, so I may have to scrap it and pick a better one.

After I wanted to create at least 3 sites, with different Niches, using ClickBank, Amazon, and possibly Adsense. I am open to options.

Not passionate about it. My wife is a travel agent, has her own website, and facebook business page. I thought I could link in an affiliate site with CB Digital Content, Amazon Affiliate Products, and linking in her sites to offer the services component.

This was just one project I had in mind. The training I took with Dan Lok is Affiliate Marketing Sites using Clickbank content.

Hey Daniel, even though I think you should definitely invest in a mentor/coach who can get you taking action, here is my suggestion.

Based on your situation I would suggest taking a serious look at product creation. It's not as hard as you think. I would start with your wife's travel agent business.

How about creating a course that teaches other travel agents how to get more customers through Facebook marketing?

Do you think there's a market for this? Absolutely!

Do you think travel agents would pay a premium price for such a product? Absolutely!

Why go for the small affiliate money, when you can sell a $297 course over and over again and keep 100% of it!

Here's my 2 minute coaching session totally FREE of charge:
(feel free to pay it forward to somebody else later)

1. Go to the Search menu above and look for 'free product creation', 'free create videos', 'free create ebook', and see what you find.

Wouldn't one want to learn the foundation before selling a product to other IM'ers?

For example take someone who has never cooked anything in their life; they sign up for a Cooking Course, and the first thing they focus on is Learning how to Create Recipes and Creating a Recipe E-Book to sell. Can you see it from my perspective?

Hey Daniel, there's 2 ways you can approach this:

1. Fast - you create a product quickly by looking at the free info that's out there already and putting your own twist on it (don't just copy). You put the product out there to the market, and see how it goes. Adjust whatever you need to make more sales. Repeat.

2. Slow - you can take the time to learn the foundations of your chosen subject. You can spend hours, weeks, and in some cases years becoming knowledgable on the subject and confirming your 'expert' or 'guru' status. In the meantime, you've created nothing and made no money.

It's your choice really.

Besides, you have a headstart. Your wife is already more of an expert than 99% of the population in the subject of 'How Travel Agents Can Get More Clients Through Facebook Marketing'.

Do you think all the people who create WSO's here, are really knowledgable experts on their subject?

A lot of people don't even create their own products (ie they outsource it) but they are making money day in and day out.

The choice is yours.

In the example you gave about Learning How To Cook and creating a product from it. I'm probably a good example, because I'm hopeless at cooking

But nothing is stopping me from taking a look at fish recipes from some of the top chefs on the web. Take some great ideas from each of them, and try to combine it into my own recipe.

Through trial and error, I experiment using their recipes and maybe add different ingredients from a few different people.

I'm not an expert, but I try. I take action.

Will I create some horrible tasting dishes? Probably.

But do you think that after a while, I'll get better? Probably.

I combine my best recipes into an ebook, or video instruction series showing 'How You Can Taste The Best Fish Dishes Of Master Chefs Worldwide 3 Nights A Week In The Comfort Of Your Own Home'.

I haven't literally copied them, but I've put my own twist on things.

I could go on about this all day.

But I've realised that there are people in this world who will go out and take a risk, take action, fall on their face multiple times, but get up each time until they succeed.

And there are others, who won't have the faith or belief that they can do it, and will continue to come up with reasons to justify their belief.

Who do you want to be?

Make the choice, be courageous, and take action!!

I believe anybody who is reading this can do it.

I believe you can do it.

  Make sure you're ready for mentoring! If you're a total newbie, chances are, you aren't. If you're even able to afford any type of mentoring as a newbie, you won't get as much out of it as you could otherwise if you know yourself better and what areas of IM you want to pursue.
  
  It takes time to figure out what area of IM you want to pursue, who the players are in that area, and which one is right for you. Many people offer similar info, but not all people will resonate with your personally. You need to find someone you "click" with to get the most out of it.
  
  You can use a person, a book, an information product, an internship or a job, -- or a forum -- as your mentor. People typically charge more for their personal time/attention than they will for an information product or a book. And one-on-one coaching typically costs A LOT more than group coaching.
  
  One of my mentors HIGHLY recommends investing most of your money in mentoring and then building the actual business and marketing on a shoestring. This is EXCELLENT advice.
  
  However, if you're broke, you probably can't afford any group coaching program, much less one-on-one coaching.
  
  That's ok. First, you need to research and "find" yourself online. That is, become knowledgeable enough that you KNOW what you want to do online. Do your homework. Search this forum. Read books. Buy courses.
  
  Then apply what you've learned. It's ok if it doesn't work the first time. We all have to start somewhere. And believe me, you'll get a LOT more out of the coaching/mentoring if you 1) KNOW exactly what area of IM you want to pursue and what you want to get out of the coaching and 2) if you already have some experience under your belt.
  
  Plus, it's less costly to invest in some IM products (comprehensive courses, not $5 ebooks), than hiring a mentor right out of the gate.
  
  I'm very much a DIY kind of person and much preferred buying courses and studying on my own than buying actual coaching. I invested a lot of time and money over about 7 years (or more) learning, dabbling in IM, making some money, and deciding exactly what I wanted to do online. In that time, I also made a very short list of people I'd discovered who I trusted: people I buy from, listen to, trust and can recommend. (Having such a list of people will save you a LOT of time and headaches!)
  
  Since I'm a DIY kind of person, I always viewed high-level, expensive coaching/mentoring programs a bit skeptically. I believe that mentoring from the right person is very valuable. But why should I pay $3,000 (or more) to be mentored when I can buy a course for $1,000 (or less) and teach myself the same thing????
  
  So now I'm very knowledgeable about IM, with some experience to boot. So I was ready to jump into my first-ever coaching/mentoring opportunity when it dropped into my lap in 2010 after I lost my job.
  
  If I hadn't already done so much research or if I wasn't CRYSTAL CLEAR about what I wanted and expected out of it, I would never have done it. But she was the perfect mentor and the timing was perfect. (Incredible, really.) I'd NEVER invested so much money at once ($3,000), but it was worth it's weight in gold. And I was ready for it.
  
  I just signed up to mentor with her again this year to the tune of $7K. This time, the coaching program includes 1-on-1 mentoring, PLUS group coaching, hence, the higher price. I flew to TX last month for our half-day 1-on-1 session and was in TX again last week for a 2-day mastermind meeting she hosted.
  
  I've been VERY happy with my mentor's guidance, THRILLED with what I learned and the world of possibilities she opened up, not to mention the emotional support she lent and her belief in all of her clients (me included).
  
  I love her personality and have a huge respect for her personally, as well as professionally. She models my idea of what a woman in business should be: super business savvy, yet totally feminine. She is a lovely, lovely lady.
  
  Once you know what area of IM you want to pursue, look to see who the players are in that field. Subscribe to their e-zines. Buy their courses and e-books. You'll quickly get a feel for those who are genuine.
  
  Then find someone who's where you want to be, who has the RESULTS that you want to achieve, and hire them.
  
  WHEN you're ready for it.

  If you're struggling to figure out what you want to do online, remember:
  
  Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success.
  
  IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:
  
  1. Products
  2. Services
  
  That's it!
  
  And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:
  
  Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page
  
  That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)
  
  But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?
  
  A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:
  
  1. Membership-based model
  
  A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.
  
  There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.
  
  2. Product-based model
  
  Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.
  
  I see someone has already recommended affiliate marketing. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.
  
  3. Service-based model
  
  Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.
  
  However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.
  
  What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)
  
  The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:
  
  Pick just ONE!
  
  1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)
  
  2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)
  
  3. Pick ONE business model.
  
  Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)
  
  F -- Follow
  O -- One
  C -- Course
  U -- Until
  S -- Successful
  
  And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!
  
  In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you're REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!
  
  Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.
  
  If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve
  
  That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)
  
  The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (Now it's only $997. :p) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.
  
  Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

This exact same proposal has been posted so many times on here and to be blunt you're going to have something on the table to entice any successful coach to take you on. Remember you are asking someone to give up their valueable time and probably costing them considerable profits they could be making elsewhere. If you don't have any money to pay them, do you have any other skills you could offer for free to a successful IM'er in exchange for some help?

Thank for your comments/questions as I welcome your candor. I am not looking for a free ride. I am open to paying a reasonable fee, and or doing some value-added "work for free" or volunteering some time/work for a mentor as payment.

I have invested a lot of money already in courses, books, and WSOs so I am seeking a Mentor who is open to the idea of Paying it Forward by taking me under their wing.

In turn, I would do the same once I am successful and knowledgeable enough to assist a newbie.

Dear Daniel,

I'm new in this market also..
These are my opinions:
- You can outsource, get people to do for you. But the main thing is you need to have commitment, willing to spend your TIME to learn and know what's going on. Because this is your own business!!
- Don't overloaded yourself. Take your time, look around. There are lots of IM Courses out there, with high fees but not really "reveal" the "true color" or the "essence" of IM.

Hi Sample1, I plan on marketing on per sale basis using ClickBank, Amazon, Adsense, or Host Gator, etc. or a combination of all of them. I wanted to start with 1-3 niche sites, and build my basic knowledge and foundation, then scale out from there to 30-40 sites.

I think having mentor may not help that much. I have never been mentored so I cannot really give valuable insight but I want to share my experience for the past 3 months trying to make money online.

I have been member of Chriss Ferrel membership site for 2 months and cancelled not because it was not good but because I was not taking any action.

I then decided to just jump in and start doing something instead of being in the learning mode always.

I have purchased websites and started building backlinks to them.

I prefer to learn as well as earn at the same time.

I think setting up the website is only 10% of the job done. The real game is in getting traffic.

So in my opinion you should outsource most of the jobs and concentrate on driving traffic to the site untill you make some money which you can reinvest in learning etc.

I am newbie , it is just my thoughts based on my experience here in the past 3 months.

It all depends on which route you'd like to take. Personally I've tried similar route to the one you are describing and did not have much luck.

I've constructed another approach which works a lot better for me.

Hi Christiani,

Sure thing! I am 38 years old, wife and 2 kids aged 5 and 3. I have a full time job as a Client Manager (Sales) at an IT Company in Edmonton, Alberta.

From an IM perspective, my skills are very basic. I understanding Key Word Search for example, but am not confident in selecting the best keywords and domains. I do not have any Word Press skill, so I need someone to help in site building and development.

I understand the concepts, but can`t seem to put the pieces together. I am `stuck`.

I am good at Sales, Writing, Putting together Niches, and have lots of money making ideas. I am very motivated to make this work, and will not quit. I have set high goals for myself and family to `get out of the Rat-Race`and eventually take IM on full-time. I fully realize this will take quite some time, and want to set a proper foundation for myself so I can pay-it-forward to future newbies.

Everyone has been where you are at right now at sometime in their IM career, so you're not alone.

I just recently broke through my own personal IM setbacks by learning, trying, fixing (what's not working by searching out info on Warrior Forum, YouTube, Google) and perfecting.

I have bad news for you and any other newbie that is trying to get into the IM World, IT'S NOT EASY!!!! The old saying is true, "If it was easy, everyone would be doing it".

I was asking the same questions and hoping someone would take pitty on me and swoop down and take me by the hand and show me everything, step by step, detail by detail.....the reality is, unless you have a good amount of money to make it worth someone's time, it's probably not going to happen, and that's what I finally realized for myself after a long time.

So here's what I suggest, it might not be right for you, but it helped me.

Start with what you know and try to get good a one or two of those things. How do you get good at them, try to put them to use on your Destination travel website, you already have the site, so play around with it.

Then what I did next was to make a list of the things I thought I needed to learn, example Autoresponder setup, Wordpress customization's and etc. and I made a simple checklist.

I then started with what I thought was the one thing that was giving me the most problems and I researched the heck out of it.
I searched Youtube for videos on Wordpress installation, I asked dumb questions here on the Warrior Forum and Digital Point Forum on specific tasks that I needed to do to be able to fully understand that one skill, then I moved on to the next skill that I needed to figure out. But the whole time, I was working on one website, trying these things out, while I was going.

Please don't take what I'm saying as a personal attack against you in anyway because I'm truly not trying to do that, but I do like to "pay it forward" as much as I can, when I can.

Don't be afraid to ask questions, people like me and many others on here will try to help you as much as we can, but the key is asking specific questions and problems to get the answers you need.

ozzmandan, you can try this :- plan on taking on one niche , have a lead gen site based on your niche of your liking , have a lead gen site (small site with upsells) , build traffic to it ( plenty of fish, facebook, banner ads from buysellads,etc) .
Then move up

Daniel, $5,000 for one on one coaching is peanuts. I once paid $2,500 for an hour with a mentor once. Thats right, ONE HOUR. A lot of friends said I was crazy, but you know what.....I didnt care about the money, I wanted the KNOWLEDGE. I was willing to pay for 2 hours or more, if necessary.

$5,000? I would consider that quite reasonable. Infact, you should be paying that A MONTH.

If you're serious, you consider it an investment, not an expense. Stop focusing on the money. Its about learning EXACTLY what needs to be done in order to accumulate assets that bring in long term, passive/residual income.

Have a good think about it. Really. What's that worth to you???

Personally I would have invested over 60,000 hours and close to $100,000 to get where I am today. How can I equate that in terms of whats a reasonable coaching fee?

Do you see my point?

Listen, at this point I think you have a few options. I know because I was there too!

THE FAST WAY - GET A MENTOR

You find a kick arse coach, and you pay the mentorship fee. You do EXACTLY as told, and educate yourself. Take that knowledge and apply it. Learn as much as you can. If you do this, the money will follow.

THE SLOWER WAY - BUY COURSES

This will cost you much less, but take you longer. Its up to you. Personally, I dont think theres too much wrong with doing things this way. Only problem is, the amount of sheer junk out there. This is where the forum can help you. Ask for advice and seek opinions on courses that will educate you.

THE SLOWEST WAY - TRYING STUFF ON YOUR OWN WITH NO INVESTMENTS.

Guess what? This is what I did when I first started. I had this niave mindset that I could just "figure it out" on my own. You know what happened? I wasted a LOT of time and a LOT of money. This is the where it comes down to TIME vs MONEY. You either spend money or you spend time. Only you can make that decision.

I agree with ramone_johnny in part, but it does NOT always have to be money. What is the value of any item/service for sale? Whatever two people agree it is worth. Yes, you do have to be willing to pay the price but there's a difference between working hard and working smart.

i can relate to what your are feeling and i want to tell you 2 things:
1.i have tried some coaching program and so far was disappointed from it,it is just like many IM courses out there most of them will not deliver what they claim to give you in their sales pages,so with mentors as with courses check their guarantees..
2.try to just take one step at a time,learn only one skill and move on and believe me there is so much free stuff going on that can help you.
