Merchant Account & CMS

Hi

About to launch my first website and have also just re-located to the US. Problem I have at present is I cannot get a merchant account for a while whilst I go through setting up a business entity in the US, am Australian and can't do it from there either as non-resident.

I have a PayPal Standard account which seems as though it'll work, but what could I link this to, to allow download of the digital product after purchase.

I have a Nanacast account, but this needs PayPal Premium, so any help in coming up with a temp solution much appreciated.

    From a coding perspective, it would be relatively easy to have a user login that checks via the paypal API to see if a payment has been made, and then allow download. This is how we do it.

    nanacast does not need paypal premium - At least as far as I know - We have a paypal business account and use their incoming and outgoing api's without problems.

    Are you sure you need a paypal premium account for what you want to do.

    Maybe you need to upgrade your nanacast membership?

    You can write a script that is invoked when a transaction is made at nancast if you need to do anything fancy.

    But most likely the business paypal account should work.

    sounds like you want to to set up a U.S> business , I think?

    In that case, get yourself a delaware LLC, then get a business bank account (preferebale with a branch in delaware). Then you can get yourself a U.S.PayPal Standard (business account).

    If you stay in America permanently, you'll get an SSN and if not, when you return to Australia you can still trade through your Delaware LLC, bank account and US PauPal.
