New product launch question

Dear warriors,

I just completed a ebook but I am not sure which place to sell it at. I tried kdp.amazon.com and sold like only 6 copies in a month.

I intend to improve sales using clickbank or rapbank. These are the only two places I know so far.

Question is, do I really need to use clickbank etc? If not where do I find affliates to help promote my product?

How do you guys promote your products online?

Please advice

Regards

I wish you good luck with your product.

The "key concept" for you, here, is that wherever you sell it, in order to attract affiliates you're going to need a proven record of successful conversions.

Without that, promoting your product to affiliates (which you'd have to do anywhere) would be a very misdirected/misguided use of time, because one thing's for sure: without a sales page that's proven to convert targeted traffic, you're not going to be able to retain any affiliates you do attract, anyway.

It would be a bit mistake to imagine that "lack of sales" is a problem you can solve by "bringing in affiliates". It just doesn't work that way. Typically, unless you have a golden history and reputation as a vendor of similar products and are well-known in the industry, you need to have the sales process established, proven and confirmable before serious affiliates will even look.

There are tons of products available therefore if your product is unproven (as Alexa says) you won't find affialiates easily, they will prefer investing time on something that is proven to work.

you can try building a list first maybe offering a smaller book for free related to your bigger book then market your bigger paid-for book to this list

    1) this wiill allow you to test your sales funnel, copy, etc...
    2) if you do have good conersion, EPC... you have something to show to potential affiliates
    3) if you have a list you can do some ad swap where you promote Mr X product to your list and Mr X will promote your product to his list

Before you build a decent repuation and have some success it is a bit harder to find affialites.

If you book is highly targeted/good quality and you have good squeez/landing pages you could try some PPV where you may be able to buy traffic for pennies and create sales this way.

Depending on the quality of your ebook you have 2 best choices. One is to compile your product into a WSO here, and the second and best one would be to add it to clickbank, it only costs $50 or so and you will have access to tons of affiliates if you will take some time to find them.Good luck!

Get your book reviewed on this forum to see what kind of feedback you get. Then use that feedback to make the necessary adjustments.

If it's I.M. related launch it as a WSO. Get testimonials and then launch it on clickbank.

Alternatively if it's not I.M. related then find out where all the customers of your niche mainly hang out. Get some banner advertising on that site. That's sure to attract some attention.

You could also create a blog and start posting articles to pre-sell your book. Offer a small report with valuable content for free to get people to subscribe o your list.

Create a set of autoresponders to pre-sell your book.

Make sure you include a banner or link to your book on the main page and emails.

Agree, if it's a IM related product you can launch it here as a WSO. I'm pretty sure you will make more then 6 sales if it's a quality product.

Anyway, you can always manage different methods to sell a product. You can build a SEO structure or promote your sales page with paid traffic. Build a list and an email sale funnell and so on... ;-)

Like TCwarrior said, its all in the list. If you have been building and creating a product you should have a niche site dedicated to this product. If you were not already collecting email addresses of people that were interested then now is as good of time as any!

There are plenty of tools out there that you can use to start an email list! Aweber is one I have used in the past and have been quite successful with. The key is to implement it. Once you have built your list you can market your product directly to customers that are incredibly interested.

6 sales without a list is not a bad place to start! How did you get those 6 sales?

Indeed! Building a list before the launch of a products is very important if you want your product to be successful, of course a top quality product will always sell "easier" but honestly it all comes down on what type of business model you have planned, a proven blue print that you have experimented with and you know it will work. IM is also about experimenting different methods and finding the one that works good for you and you're very comfortable with.

You seem to be in the right path to succeed with your product, like you said - now is time to put in the work!

    Wish you success!

I recieved the sales through amazon KDP. Didn't really do much, just listed the product there. I did not create a list prior to making the product.... I think I have loads of work to do now. Actually what I thought was trying to rank it on google. Any good recommendations for getting your seo done for a fee ?

There are several good SEO providers here that have a good track record of delivering results. (I'm not going to recommend any one in particular, it'd be best that you do your own research and arrive at your own conclusions.)

I know you probably want to know how much it will cost and how long it will take to rank, right? That is a complex question with no easy answer, and the most accurate answer I can give here is, "it depends."

It's going to depend on the competition for your keyword, the number of competing sites and also the niche that you intend to enter. If your market's fairly competitive and you want to get your site ranked, I'd highly suggest looking into developing a complete sales funnel replete with autoresponder messages and other complementary products (this can either be your own or someone else's, and don't forget that PLR can also be a good starting point). You want to do this so that you can maximize the return on your investment in the SEO, and build a long-term business that generates consistent revenue.

That's actually a good idea, one that I would have recommended myself. Build a website around your book and get it to rank on 1st page of google for related keywords. You'll get free traffic and hopewfully sales, if the traffic s targeted.

        Good luck with your product.

PS: You know, there are all sorts of methods to promote your book on KDP and increase those sales.

If you want to sell lots of books on the Kindle, you need to work hard and market yourself and your book. Amanda Hocking posted to her blog 2-3 times every week for 2+ years before her books took off. Oh and she is a killer writer also.

You need to right great sh**
You need to build a brand for yourself and your series of books
You need to be active in social media and your blog on a consistent basis

It's not easy and takes lots of hard work but that is why there are only a handful of multi millionaire self publishers like Amanda Hocking. You have to be serious and hustle hard. You CAN make some money without all the hard work but it won't be much and won't last long.

You asked about buying a Kindle..Every single person that wants to publish a book on the Kindle should absolutely own one. It's not enough to check your formatting and layout on the computer or with a Kindle App. I have seen dozens of times people thought their books were great and wondered why they weren't getting the sales they wanted only to find out their book looked hideous on the Kindle device itself.

Definitely build you brand as an author with a blog that has SEO and links to your book. Also, make sure everything in your book is perfect so you generate good book reviews and repeat buyers.
