hi guys,
just a quick question.

if you had 100 virtual assistants, would would you do?

im thinking what ideas are best to get them working on a MASS SCALE to build your business...what would you assign these guys?

thanks
bj

ps...obviously if you had 100 va's, you would want to assign 10 of them to manage 10 people each...so u only have to deal with the managers...just trying to come up with ideas on how to make the MOST out of having a big virtual assistant team.

ok if you had a few real assistants, you would eventually want to scale up and have them hire and train others...so what TACTICS would you focus on to grow your business and make more money in your business...im looking to open up a discussion to share ideas that work TODAY...in terms of REALLY WORKING and making money.

Great question BJ. I'd probably segment the 90 or so left after the managers were chosen into work groups: content writers, link builders, site builders, etc. Then, I'd set some daily and weekly goals that would be monitored by the "management level" of those VAs.

The managers should have to synthesize the results into daily reports for me, and I'd make one of their jobs include quality control (checking links, reading content, etc.) and recommending layoffs.

My goal would be to eliminate the poorest performing 1/3 and incentivize the managers to boost efficiency. Review targets with managers and award them for the volume and quality of work they're able to get from the VA.

What the managers probably "shouldn't know" is that you're looking to eliminate the bottom 1/3 of them also. So, within the first few weeks you should be down to a lean mean machine of 7 managers managing 7 work groups of 10.

      How does this sound?

      John

have 10 of them setting up software SEO campaigns
have 10 of them entertain me some how

Likewise. I'd probably narrow them down to something like 5 or less if I wanted to manage them myself. And most likely even if I did that, I'd just communicate with one of them, who I'd make the project manager. I'd delegate all tasks and instructions to him, and require daily reports on tasks.

Hi BJ, I think a more realistic approach for the average guy is to start with just one VA and go from there. I can't even imagine how much time it would take someone to screen through hundreds of applications just to come up with the final 100 VA's and then start the elimination process of those under-performing and so on.

I would have them all post 10-20 ads a day on CL , so that's 2000 live ads a day... with a good campaign you can easily make a few thousand a day if your promoting a few pay per sale offers that convert at 2%-5%.

Let them research KW's and create the most MNS' as possible a day. With this manpower, the succes lies in the quantity of the sites, not quality anymore as you are less limited with so much va's.

I would probably scale back to about 5 working directly with me on a regular basis. These 5 can expand their workload and subcontract out with their team but I hold the my main 5 accountable. I would be involved to review the backgrounds and work quality of everyone that joins our extended team.

    50 to call businesses.
50 divided in small teams of 5 (one leader), each team would address one particular item like design/coding/copywriting etc.

Something along these lines so that 50% of human force can create "work" for the rest.

I would fire all of them because of how much time 100 VA's would take up to manage.

VA's are not valuable UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE A SYSTEM IN PLACE THEY CAN MANAGE.

    Interesting question
But in order to answer, I must know what your goal is; what skills you have; and how much they cost.
If Pareto rule apply 20 of them will create 80% of the value. -> So fire 80
If individual potential counts, look for special talents in each. -> assign tasks according to strenghts
If you want profit and don't know what to do with them, auction their service & work time.

Some people have hit on key concepts I would use, but I think several of them need to be combined.

    1. Adopt to a business model which allows for maximum use of outsourcing, and minimum personal requirements (Adsense, Amazon)

    2. We discussed forming subteams (say 10 managers each with 9 people under them), and also splitting people such as 10 writers, 10 backlinkers 10... etc....

The best way to do this, I believe, is to make that subdivision under EACH manager.

So we have 10 managers, each of which has:
    3 writers
    3 backlinkers
    1 wordpress/graphics guy
    2 social media guys

This way I could give each manager a new site to launch, and they can take care of the entire project just within their team.

That being said, I would only do that with maybe 5-6 teams.

1 team would be entirely researching and testing new niches.
2-3 teams of developers working on products for platforms such as iphone, wp plugins, etc

I'd wonder wth I'd done and sadly sack 97 of them, with profuse apologies and an explanation that I had no idea what they were doing there.

    Another thought.....

The guy at nichepursuits.com made 20 adsense sites in one month like 6 months ago (Case study) and they now make about $2000 a month in total.

If you had ten teams (each which had writers, backlinkers, etc), each team could easily create 1 of these sites per week.

You could 40 adsense sites per month being made (each could easily have 20-50 articles scheduled to post over the next year).

If each site could average $4 a day, that is a $58k yearly income you created in a month.

That for 12 months? 690k yearly income created.
