It could work. To me it just looks like you choose the same options you have if they were on your real list so you have all of the necessities. However, these lists could be made up of people who were just interested in the free products so they may not be willing to buy anything.

Thanks for commenting, i´m making sure that they are all in fact regular internet buyers (infousa gives me the option to pick them like that)

Oh, it does. Depends on how you use it. There is a bad and good way to launch your email marketing campaign.

By the way, the question reminds me of a can opener. Does it work? All the time except for left-handed people. They just couldn't get themselves to use it effectively.

I agree with Fatality. I have seldom heard of someone who buys a list and gets a good deal.

The thing about buying lists is that they have no relationship with you so when you first email them, many of them will unsub instantly. I know that if I was on someones list and then all of a sudden I received an email from that new owner, I would immediately unsub because to me, my personal information has been compromised.

Just the way I look at it.

sorry i should have been clear, i´m not "buying" the list, i´m renting it, they send my offer from they email like they always do...so it´s not me who speaks to them...

That's a pretty good deal but like I said, if it doesn't convert well then you are in the hole. It's a risk and it could go either way, make a lot of money or lose most of it.

          Bombx,

Do they have a list of guitar enthusiasts or people who have purchased guitars? Before you go this route, have you compared to solos from other niche guitar sites or banner ads. Have you tried facebook ads?

Do you have a tested landing page that you know will convert? If not, you should be able to find cheaper ways to test.

Have you tried free methods or cheaper methods like solo ads to build your subscriber list? You mentioned that you are renting these addresses? How many times have they been rented?

If other methods have worked for you and you have positive cash flow, then do it but realize that you must build a relationship with this list over time.

Best Wishes and I wish you success!

              Hello people!

I guess everybody is talking about email marketing. I am surprised no one mentioned the offer from Jamison Palmer. He is offering an email traffic package. I bought it because I read a recommendation from Rick Katz, the owner of several safelists. I guess I made an excellent buy. According to Rick I will be getting an excellent education and will have the opportunity to make money from that email package. Anybody has an idea how I can talk to Jamison. Is there a forum where he is the subject of the thread? Just asking. And may be you folks would like updates how I will be doing with that program. I make a note and come back here. See you soon.

Personally, I think it's a waste of money.

If you have money to spend on list building, spend it on solo ads.

Some of you may not be familiar with InfoUSA? They have been in the direct mail business for a long, long time and they are a "Name Brand." I know for a fact that I am not the only Warrior here who uses them to great effect.

What you should be aware of is that you may not get the results you may be imagining, if you think you will make your money back quickly. It is an investment, not a magical formula. If you are aware of that, then yes, it is a good idea, and a good way to build a targeted list quickly.

I've heard of people having success with list that they didn't build personally just a FEW times; And all of these guys were scraper/scripting wizards who scraped Google for much MUCH more than 7,000 leads -- And, I'm sure they were stepping a little too close to the spam line in the process.

If you have $500 that you want to burn, my recommendation would be to spend that on advertising/banner ads, and send that traffic to a squeezpage.

If you have your follow-up sequence set up well enough, you'll probably get much more "bang" for your buck.

InfoUSA is a reputable company and if you are looking for people to sign up for a list you may be very pleased with your purchase. If you are looking for those people to immediately buy, you will most likely be disappointed. Very few people are willing to buy something the first time they see it. Again, if you get them on a list, and then send them good information, you may end up with a very targeted, very responsive buying list. I've actually ordered from InfoUSA in year's past and found them to provide good leads (at least they did then) in the sense that the people were interested in information.

No don't do it. Build your own list of 5,500, and you will profit like madly.

Well if you are willing to get your hands dirty you can make a list pretty nicely.

1.Write 5 articles on your niche (nicely keyword searched)
        2. Turn those articles into videos using screen capture and powerpoint
        3. Strip the audio and now you've got the audio files.

        4. Distribute the articles to at least 10 article directories
        5. Submit audio to podcast sites
        6. Submit videos to video directories

Have a great amazing offer in all your articles/audio/videos and send them to a squeeze page.

That is the simplest way with not much experience... There are obviously many other ways... but didn't want to get crazy you know..

        Hope that helps a bit..

        David

P.S. I wouldn't suggest paying for a list unless you have the right message for them and use the right medium... If I buy a list, I will use direct mail... not email. And would have such an unbelievable offer it would be insane to pass up...

        P.P.S. Keep on truckin'

I believe for that price it could be used in other ways, perhaps see if there is a smaller purchase you can make with them to see what kind of results you get. Then try with the larger more expensive option.

Hmmm... $700 for 5500 targeted leads. If you do decided to test this, I would send them to a squeeze page first and offer them a free guitar/music instrument resource (e-book, tutorial, etc.) to get their emails. That way you're building your own list for this niche. If they don't opt-into your list, redirect the traffic straight to your amazon store like you would have done in the first place.

Now if your squeeze page say converts at 30%. Then you pretty much built an instant list of about 1650 subscribers essentially for $700 plus a chance to make sales in your amazon store. So your cost is only $0.42 per targeted subscriber into your list!

Then you can have an autoresponder sequence to your list and keep on marketing to them to go back to your amazon store, send them special offers, let them know of new products, provide additional valuable info, etc. You're then building familiarity with your list and trust over time, and most likely will become more responsive with your recommendations.

If you are set on going that route then you'll want to start
with a small sample as possible before you launch out in
spending the big money. If that is the smallest size list
they are willing to mail out to then be sure that your
budget can accommodate losing that amount of money.

As indicated above there are cheaper routes but sometimes
you do have to spend to get a breakthrough.
