5000 visitors per month: How to monetize?

Hi guys,

I have a health website that have an average of 5000 visitors per month (and 3 others with 1000 visitors per month each). Currently, I monetize by putting adsense ads in those websites, and am earning an average of USD5 per day.

I can't help but to have an inkling feeling that I can monetize the websites better. Most of the traffic comes from search engines due to my SEO efforts, so I am a little cautious about putting affiliate links in them.

Do advice if there is any better way to monetize these websites.

    Cpa offers, go direct to health affiliate promoters. You could have an affiliate link to health supplements. Just use your brain my friend, it's not hard.

    It would all depends what your niche is of course, but possibly take a look at some CPA offers. These are usually free to the visitor, so can convert really well.

    if you have 5000 visitors per month on one site and 1000 on the other sites, while you think how to monetize them you should (if you have not already done so) add opt-ins forms to your sites, see if you can transform your 5000 visitors per month in a 1000s subcribers list. Offer them a free report related to your site niche, or if your site has good numbers of returning visitors and content updates offer them an email allert of newsletter of sort. Build a list out of it then you can market to them ethically promoting or even testing/reviewing relevant products

    I would set up a newsletter, include adsense and promote affiliate products.

    The best thing to do right now is to build a list of subscribers and keep sending them good content.

    1. Add an optin form on your home pages, and sidebars for your other webpages.
    2. Get a blog (you are not going to blog, but this will be a medium for your newsletter content and recommendation)
    3. Ask them what is their bigger frustrations and problems (you should already know this, but with your list, you will know even more)
    4. Once you know what are their problems, give them the solution (a powerful, free baby step).
    5. Ask them if they want more
    6. Create the paid solution and sell them

    This is one way to do it. Don't make this complicated. Going through each of the steps above should take you two weeks.

    Absolutely depends on the quality of the traffic. I have websites with 5k+ visitors per day and can only squeeze $5-10 per day out of them no matter the monetisation technique but also have websites which get 10-20 uniques per day and get $50+. Totally depends on what your visitors are looking for.

      I love your second website. Only getting 10-20 uniques visit per day, but it can generate $50+. I also ever had a bog with 1,000 visits per day. However, the result is very little, and then I left because it just takes a lot of time and effort. I just want to build a blog with few visitors, but it can brings great results.

    Which will work better? That's not a question any of use can answer here. You're the webmaster. Test them and see.

    My recommendation would be to build a list. It's an asset that you will always be glad to have.

    Thought of a joint venture?

    I saw a chap posting yesterday about how he lost lots of weight in a minimal amount of time and he knows the right way to do it. A JV between you two would be mutually beneficial. You have the traffic, he has the product.

    As an alternative and something I would personally do- The health market is full of products you can white label. You have a viable enough chunk of the market to go ahead with branding an existing product with your own brand. You can also apply an affiliate structure to it whereby your buyers can suggest it to their friends.

    I think Adsense would be the least rewarding of all the examples mentioned... my tip would be to stick up an email optin form and offer something of value.

    You know your audience and what they are interested in - find some product related to that and offer it to them for free once they sign up to the mailing list. Once you have them on the list you can email market to them and earn good money.

    It really depends on the quality of traffic you are getting, but I think, like many others have mentioned, your best bet is to create a squeeze page and offer some kind of relevant product for free.

    Once you have a list of emails of people who are interested, you can market products you think they would be interested in to them off-site. You can keep your ads going too side by side

    How are you making out with your monetization? What specific area of "Health" are you in? There are a lot of CPA and Leadgen offers that may do well. I'd be potentially interested in running a banner. PM me when you get a sec. :rolleyes:

    Build your own product!! This is the best thing you can do, and probably the best way to monetize your site.

    $5 a day? Even if you make a product and sell it at $47, you'd only have to sell one every 9 days to make more then what you're making now. And if you create a good product and have a good relationship with your community, you should sell more then this.

    Try diversifying your traffic and use more then just Google though. Relying on them 100% isn't a good idea, as many have experienced from their updates. Build your own list like people have said, maybe even create a membership site to stabilize your income. Don't become too comfortable with your Google traffic, use other methods to drive traffic as well. Good luck.

    Add an opt-in form on your home page in the upper right corner. This will start your list building. I would recommend an auto responder such as IContact, Aweber or Get Responder. Once you start a list, even a small list...start to do swaps to make your list grown larger. In your first follow up emails of your auto responder, have a link simular to this one:

    Your hyperlink should go to one of your other sites, so you are getting even more traffic.

    You could do a opt-in for a free e-book 'Creating a slimmer YOU' (depending on what your health site is about). You could get someone to do you up a e-book for some $$ and in return you've get THE LIST!! As everybody has said above. Its all in the List, go for it!!! :-)

    If you are getting 5000 visitors consistently than I would suggest to try different thinks every month or every week so you can understand which one to focus on and maximize your income from these sites.

    If you add any CPA product than I will recommend you take out Google Adsense and just focus on CPA if you see by testing that you are making good money from CPA than Google Adsense..

    Try building your own list, if you know how to add autoresponder code in your website...

    So testing is everything, try to test for 6 months and judge yourself which is converting more for you..I hope this helps..
