I've been interested in Internet marketing for about a year now and finally have some spare time (thanks Mr. Economy!) to actually devote the kind of effort that I feel is necessary to start making an alternate source of income. I won't go into boring details about my situation but here is my IM dilemma. I've been lurking here and reading reports off and on for about 6 or 8 months, and have bought a few ebooks in the past, so I feel that I have okay grasp of what is going on.
Question as I'm jumping in...

I've been doing some niche research in the areas that I'm interested in and have found what seems to be a very promising niche to start working on. However, the manufacturer that I'm looking to target only works through dealers and does not have its own affiliate program. After doing further research I've found that several dealers do in fact have affiliate programs, but they are some of the big box stores. So I'm curious, is it a profitable venture to attempt to promote this particular product, but then forward them on to a store such as walmart.com (this isn't the actual store, but just an example)
Any input is greatly appreciated!
