Youtube sponsorship? Good idea?

Hello warriors!

I have recently been brainstorming and I came to the conclusion that getting accepted as a Youtube sponsor would increase my income by a substantial amount. Have you ever noticed those annoying ads that play by themselves before the actual video starts? Well those ads pay $.4 per view. So if you have 10,000 views on a video that's $400. Imagine if you have 1,000,000...

So my question is: is it hard to get accepted as a Youtube sponsor? and do any of you have experience regarding this?

I think I might give it a try and see how it turns out.

    Hi sagits,

It can be quite difficult, the main thing to take into consideration is no copyright videos at all!

You need a good few thousand subscribers to be accepted, as well as a good amount of channel and video views.

It depends on what the videos will be about, some categories can be easy to get views whilst other hard.

You have been completely misinformed my friend. First off, it's called a youtube partner, not a sponsor. I've been one for a long time, and the figure you threw out couldn't be further from the truth. On average, you get paid between 1-5 dollars (with an average around 3 dollars, at least in my experience) per 1000 views.

This means that in order to earn a moderately good full time income from being a partner, you have to have around 1 million hits a month. That'll get you around 3000 US dollars. Or perhaps even 4-5000, if you have strong keywords and a great CTR.

Is it hard to become a partner? Not if you know what you're doing, and you're dedicated. Start by enabling revenue sharing on all your videos. Then it's up to you to generate views. Without a steady stream of high views, you will not make partner,.

While you're an IVP (individual video partner), which will be your title before you make partner, you still make money from your videos, but it's a lot less (you're looking more at 20 cents per 1000 videos).

So to sum up - if you have high traffic videos, your chances are good. If you submit your youtube partner application and more than 1 month goes by without an answer, I suggest contacting support and asking for the status. More often than not, that will speed up the process significantly. At least it did for me.

Hope that helps and best of luck to you!

I wish youtube paid $0.4/view lol. I have also been a youtube partner for over a year now, your earning really do vary depending on keywords based on video content, CTR etc.... but on average I seem to be earning $15 per 10,000 views, sometimes i have made up to $50 per 10,000 views but at times $10 per 10,000 views, based upon my last 6 months earnings its averaging for my content $15/10,000 views. whoever told you its $0.4/view is incase, you dont even get anywhere near that per click.
