Besides the domain name Linsanity.com, Slayton is also the owner of TheJeremyLinShow.com.
His former coach is so lucky that he got these 2 domains... He can make money out of it if used well...

That's assuming that, as a newly-minted "celebrity", Lin (or his agent) doesn't decide to enforce Lin's right to publicity for his name and likeness. If he does, the coach's "luck" could turn bad, in terms of either losing the domains or being forced to pay royalties to license the use of Lin's name.

That's a dicey one here, with all the copyright issues.

Was wondering who was going to get the domain. I doubt Lin will have problems, just another tebowing.com or Bradying.com

He bought the domain before Lin ever became a celebrity.
That could still as well be the name of his fond pet.

It will take some long legal disputes.
So if I should guest correctly, the coach's luck could just be hanging on a tweak.

How about if that coach had secured copyright before the real linsanity came out? Will he still be charged of infringement? Does Lin's team still have a chance to take away the domain?

I'm not sure Lin's team has any say one way or the other unless it's in his contract with them.

Lin, on the other hand, may have a lot to say about it regardless of the dates. Look up "right to publicity"...

      [Insert boilerplate IANAL language here.]

I'm sure that if push comes to shove then (providing one party has enough money to back them) it could get interesting.

They could always come to some sort of agreement with the site rights - a joint venture???
