Bringing traffic to large site

Hey guys,

I am in the process of building a very large website. Once it is complete I obviously have to drive traffic to it. I am looking to bring as much traffic as possible so here is what I have so far:

social media - pintrest, facebook, twitter, youtube
social bookmarking - social bookmarking, rss submission
signatures - blog post, forum posts, etc
ads - facebook ads

I did not mention SEO because that takes time. I also did not mention article marketing because I have no generated very good results from it in the past.

What other suggestions do you guys have? Thank you!

    Link up with Tumblr, YouTube, Twitter, and maybe Facebook. And publish lots of valuable, unique, quality content.

    all of the things you mentioned, but getting a couple or a few traffic expert outsourcers so that once your traffic starts flowing, it will be pretty much on autopilot.
    Also, depending on what niche your website is in...flyers.

      It depends on your particular niche, but I would completely dismiss rss, bookmarking and article directories like Ezinearticles. They really don't work anymore. Web directories don't work too.

      OK, what really works for new websites, large or small are things like: guest blogging, SEO, ebook syndication, joint ventures (all free/requires time).

      Some of the best paid traffic - solo ads (winner), banners, facebook ads, etc.

    If you have a large site, then you might rank for numerous low competition keywords that should get you up to 1K visitors per month. This is assuming that you have done your keyword research well, and exact-targeted these low hanging fruits.
