So Frustrated, Please help!

12 replies
I recently uploaded free web templates for my squeeze page and i used kompozer to edit all of my information. It looks great but here's my problem.

Whenever I try to upload the html document to my website through Filezilla, it gets messed up and the html document looks nothing like it should, no graphics, nothing! Help!

Also, Every time I go into the HTML editor and change anything, even stuff that I am supposed to change, such as the header, it ruins the entire template and my page has all the typing against the left side of the page, and uhhh it is so frustrating.

I know nothing about HTML, so please help.

Is it the fact that I'm using templates, or what?

Please please please give me any information you know to help.

Thanks
Pete

    You know, I had that exact same problem with FZ about a year ago, a quick reinstall fixed it right up

    You could of course be uploading in the wrong mode but then I can't see

      I would assume it's filezilla but my squeeze page looks the same after i upload it to my website as it does when i try to add a header in the HTML editor.

        Pete...

        Make sure you upload all graphic files separately. When you make the adjustments in your html editor, be sure to save it as an html page and not a template.

        Test alignment and such should be easy to correct in any editor.

          As for filezilla thank you so much!!! I had no idea that's what i needed to do. So what all do I have to upload exactly.

          Thanks so much,

    First of all it's great that you solve your problem.

    I think that you missed up to mention the exact URL of your images or you uploaded them to different folder.

    You need to learn HTML basics, this Language is so easy and I am sure you enjoy practicing it.

      If your only problem is that the graphics are not displaying then you need to change your html code to point all graphics to the proper folder (which contains your graphics). And yes you will need to upload all graphics -- they should be in a separate folder.

        A quick lesson on graphics location and html code:

        in your html code you will need to find all images. They will look similar to this:

        src="img_files/the-bestbook-to-dogtraining.jpg"
        this statement is saying that in the folder where your html file is located is another sub folder called "img_files" and within that folder is a picture called "the-bestbook-to-dogtraining.jpg".

        Alternatively if you were to upload all your pictures in the same folder as your html (not advised by the way) then you would code them as follows:

        src="the-bestbook-to-dogtraining.jpg"
        Hope that helps.

      Hey Pjkem15.

      I can't see this page:

      file:///var/folders/LD/LDc2qjHZEYO-Tmjt9jW5Mk+++TI/-Tmp-/fz3temp-1/indexinsomnia_test-one.html/
      You would need to provide the URL (http://....) for me to see it, in order to compare the two pages.

      I'll pm you.

    You may know nothing about html, but you don't really need to.

    What you can do it right click on the html file and select open with notepad.
    The, just search for the writing that you want to change. You can leave all the fancy code around it as this will format your text. Just backspace out the writing that you want to chance, and then type in your own words.

    The click File - SAVE (dont forget that part), and try and open it again.
    That does the trick for me when I want to edit html files.

    do let me know if I can help you out on your website

    However these problems usually arise due to different factors,such as

    name of image in capital letters, location of images, style sheet location etc....

    Have to check out what your problem is exactly....
