To reduce Inodes you can delete your unwanted emails from your email accounts, and you should delete files on you hosting account that you no longer need.

Yeah I tried that already and Im still over like 2500 Inodes but Ill find some more unwanted files Im sure. Thanks for your reply!

Be careful. As far as I understand Hostgator won't warn you when you reach the inodes limit, they will just freeze your account. Running 50 Wordpress blogs on a shared hosting account is probably expecting a little too much. It sounds to me like you need to step up to a dedicated hosting option or at least a VPS.

I recently cleared out a ton of inodes from my Hostgator shared plan. Majority of them were email and the temp folder. Once I cleared them out I went from something like 200,000 down to about 30,000.

usually those high volume of emails especially useless and spam emails are causing all the trouble. Delete them to get more space and have proper maintenance and filtering about your email.

Thanks guys.. Yeah Im doing some maintenance right now on them actually and im looking at around 50 sites, so yeah I am gonna call HG and start pricing Vps and other options. Thanks for your help!

To add to that, check the number of cache files you have in the cache folder. Some applications can generate a lot of unwanted cache files which can be deleted.

And maybe this time you can try a local email client like outlook or thunderbird which pulls all emails from the webserver to your local email app.

If you are having a large number of files and running out of inodes frequently, you may opt for a dedicated server. In dedicated hosting, all the system resources are dedicated to your account so the number of inodes you use will not be a problem.

Great Information ImAdmirer, Thanks! I will look take a look at that right away. as far as the email is concerned I deleted a lot of the unwanted files for the most part so that shouldn't be an issue. I appreciate all of you for all your help!
