Screen Capture Video Software?

Could anybody share their experiences on the best screen video capture software they use please?

I have created several eBooks with great success so far, for my next eBook which is in its early stages, I wish to make a video which shows my users what I am doing on screen, with the ability to add captions and voice commentary. I would also like it to have a zoom function in the editing suite.

Can anyone recommend me one, which is really good value and of good quality?

Camtasia is the clear winner by a mile IMHO. It will do everyting you want. The price is steep, but the 30 day trial is usually long enough to make your product, sell it, then buy the full version from the profits.

+1 for Camtasia... but if you can't afford it, Screencast-O-Matic for only a $12 per year fee is a great option.

I too use Camtasia for all my screen recording. Have never needed to look elsewhere.

I personally use screen flow and think it gets the job done with all the editing tools that I need to make great videos. I've heard great things about camtasia too, seems like that's the clear winner thus far.

Camtasia is the best but you will need to spend money on that. A cheaper but really good solution is using screencast by jing.
