Just saying hi....(yes, another brand new wannabee!)

Hi all,

I have been a sometime visitor to the forums, scanning threads just to try and absorb some knowledge, learn some things etc. Must say, my first impression is that everyone is incredibly supportive and helpful. Seems to be that if you have found your way here, you are among like minded people, and advice is never far away. Great vibe, kudos to all!
I'll be hanging around a lot more, as I've decided to take the plunge myself now I am more home based looking after my 2 children, and can work around childcare. I am still trying to find my area, but am interested in the writing side of things (writing and editing articles), perhaps blogging, and focusing on family holidays/ travel as a niche for internet marketing.

Any help or advice at this very early stage would be greatly appreciated (any advice with article writing? any good sources for holiday/travel PLR?).

Being a complete novice, I thought perhaps taking Tony Shepherds Kickstart Course would be a good start, pick up some general skills etc. Thoughts?

Yip, this forum can teach you everything you need to know about internet marketing.

Regarding getting started, my advice when people just starting out is to pick a business model. Decide how you are first going to make your money (Is it promoting Amazon products Clickbank products, CPA offers, Your own product etc), and then pick a method for driving traffic to that offer.

If you can do those 2 things and then focus on them intensely, you will be ahead of 90% of people in the game.

Welcome Always nice to see new people of the forum, im sure you have read this a couple of times before but its worth being said again. I'd purchase the war room there are lots of helpful and very useful things in there, definately worth the investment, it's pretty safe to say, it will have most of the things your need.

Hello and welcome to the forum and the world of having a business online.

As to where to start, it is in research. Most newbies skip or whiz by this step because of all the headlines promising easy money and they never talk about picking a niche and then months or years later when you've made no money someone might tell you....oh, you should've picked a different niche.

(I have read that on here many times from people who have taken paid courses.)

The key to making money, imho, is to sell something that people are already buying and that has some competition but not so much competition that a newbie will never make it.

Yes, there will be those on here who will tell you if you are good at marketing, you can make it in any niche, however, that does not describe most newbies like yourself.

Also, you do not need to spend any money in training. There are so many free step by step courses and ebooks on here that will tell you everything you need to know.

Some on here will tell you to get a coach. Again, that costs money.

The only things I would advise a new person to get is a War Room onetime lifetime fee membership because there is a lot of great free stuff in there.

If you do the market research to find te "sweet spot" of a buying market with enough global monthly google searches but not too much competition, with a very few steps in list building you can start making some money in a few hours or days depending on your learning curve and once you find something that works, you scale it up and then add new niches.

That is what I did in list building.

However, there are many other methods to make money online but my mentors told me never do all that work to send traffic to someone elses site so that you would need to build a list regardless of the method.

I had no previous experience and figured it out in a few days with some step by step instructions so I'm sure you can, too.

    Good luck.

thanks to all for your good wishes...I'm definitely going to take my time, absorb all I can, and take baby steps. Not interested in he whole 'get rich quick' thing, but in starting a worthwhile, long term online business.
    Looking forward to the journey!

      Very wise perspective to have.

What I've often noticed is that those who work for the immediate reward seldom build long term success and very often times don't even make anything immediately.

However, those who plan and work for long term success more often than not do pretty good in the short term also.

hi decanus, a warm welcome in the warrior family! Like you wrote , take small steps at a time and focus on doing it right do not get distracted! that is the biggest problem for newbies! Getting overwhelmed with all kinds of good working strategies.
As you mentioned article writing, learn it and you will be fine. good relative content is the number one issue on the internet. good luck with your quest !!

I would say don't "absorb" too much, not everything is worth time and money. But then again you also learn from your mistakes so can be a catch-22 I guess!

I finally started making a full-time income when I got so sick of floating from thing to thing and just picked 1 thing to do and kept doing it... and doing it...and I still buy WSO's here and there but I don't use them as a to-do list, only to keep up with whats going on, stimulate my creativity, and harvest all those little gold nuggets!

My point is to find an area you really enjoy doing FIRST, and then supplement THAT business with things you learn or buy here.

    Take care!

The mention of article writing caught my eye. Do try out websites like oDesk.com and elance.com. These websites will provide you with opportunities to work on a variety of writing jobs.

Welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of good advice about article writing. Read the posts by anniepot and alexa smith.

When you're ready you might want to run an ad in the Warriors for Hire section of the forum and then link to it in your signature. A word to the wise...don't price yourself too low or you'll burn out quickly.

Starting your own blog is a good idea, too. A lot of young mothers would love to be able to work at home so that is a niche in itself.
