How Do You Value Text Links?

Hi WF -

How much do you think a text link is worth?

I working with an authority site with between 2k-4k uniques a day on it. We'll be monetizing in a variety of ways, one of which is selling text links on some of the authority articles.

2 questions for you:

1) Would you include this in a monetization effort?

2) How do you value text links?

    Are you planning on these links driving traffic to the advertisers sites — or simply placing them for "link juice" properties? Link juice is valued by pagerank, follow or dofollow, number of external links on the page, age of the domain, % original content on the page.

    I agree with Dan, a nickel for each character, but I would charge 8 cents for bold characters.
