If you're hoping to get traffic via the search engines, then spinning articles is not good. You either need to write or outsource unique, quality content.

But remember do all the links index
by any method. You can find many methods
    to do index here.

It's a bad idea. You will just be contributing to the garbage already clogging up the Internet. Quality articles is the way to go and your business should benefit more long term..

No this has nothing to do with SEO or promoting my own site
I want people to find articles, read, click on link, convert

You have article marketing 100% wrong if that is what you are thinking. It's a shame those so called experts push mass submitting to useless article directories that are filled with ads and links as article marketing.

I agree with patrica, you are just spamming articles to already spammed article sites. This is a complete waste of time. It is 2012 you need a content marketing strategy and you need to use social media to promote your cpa's, i drive literally 90% of my web traffic to my site from facebook and pinterest. Look at my site if your interested, i teach people how to build their social followers organically on facebook, linkedin, pinterest, with simple easy to follow tutorials, no fluff or bs. If you want to check out my site, click my username and then click visit homepage

If you want your business and your name to look bad go ahead. Articles are not sales pitches, they are supposed to be informative pieces of information.

I'm going to have to take the other side of the argument here — article submissions and spinning is still an effective way to boost search engine rankings.

Bottom line, my business is in it to make a profit. So long as the rules of the game state that a benefit can be derived from leveraging my time via mass article syndication and spinning, I will gladly take that advantage.

If anyone says spinning and submissions isn't effective — they aren't doing it right — or they haven't tried it — or they have personal moral beliefs against it. I can give you an example right now of a page that went from non-existent to first page utilizing nothing TheBestSpinner and uniquearticlewizard. And this is a search term that gets 29,000 searches a month with "Medium" competition.

It's a bad idea because your article will get submitted to bunch of dying article directories that no one really visits besides spammers.
If you want people to click on your links, than I suggest you sue quality web properties:
    Hope that helps!

This is a tricky question. One needs back links, so if you are not going to do it, your competition will. Just adding to the garbage on the net, that is also not recommended. I think you should give it a try, track your results and see if you can see any increases in traffic to your site. Just ensure your articles get index, other wise they are worth nothing.

It's only $5! This is true but is that only $5 worth the reputation of your name and site ? There is nothing to test, it has already been stated by Google that this way of article marketing is frowned upon.

High quality content + high quality websites = a nice user experience
