EZA Recent Resource-Box Changes Reversed

This is from an Ezine Articles email (yesterday) ...

For now, the Resource Box changes made last week were reverted a few hours ago. We'll study the data and look for opportunities to improve trust with our tens of millions of readers while keeping our focus on delivering highly pre-qualified traffic to your site. Over the next week, we'll analyze the data we gathered from this study and share our findings.
When they say "share our findings", that will doubtless be on their blog: Article Writing & Marketing Insights - EzineArticles Blog

I'm pleased, I must say. I didn't like this change. I could live with it, and it was nothing dramatic, but I'm happier without it ...

They inserted a line (in larger typeface) after the article and before the resource-box, reading "About the author".

In other words, effectively, turning it from a "resource-box" into what people call a "bio box". :p

To people using the directory as a directory, of course, it wasn't really too material, as publishers know what's going on and it wouldn't have affected whether or not they'd have syndicated an article. (At least, that's what they've all been saying). But I imagine the people trying to use an article directory as a way of attracting traffic (:rolleyes can't have been too pleased! :p

My guess is that they got a lot of complaints from people who use EZA to send their traffic to, and try to rank their articlea there instead of on their own sites.

Yep I know a number of people who were not happy with this. It's good that they do listen and react to user opinion, but it's still debatable whether or not it will revert.

The problem I see with the Bio box model for syndicators is that webmasters and ezine editors would be more likely to only copy up to the "About the author" section. Or they may copy the whole thing but leave the extra line in when they paste it.

I'm glad to see they reversed the change. There are already plenty of distractions from the articles and authors link, imo....hopefully it won't return.
