So confused by all the information...

I've been looking online for awhile now, and lurking here, to figure out a way that I might be able to capitalize on the fact that I can advertise in a global market. It seems like if business is a numbers game, you can't go wrong with global numbers.
So anyway, I'm a college student and don't have a lot of time to invest, but I'm motivated and willing.

My plan is to create a single blog and write content on the blog with keywords, write articles that direct people back to my blog, and create videos on youtube that direct people back to my blog. Then with this blog I have affiliate products that relate to the blog.

My plan in to continue writing content on this blog and for this blog until I start making fifty dollars a month. After that I will start another blog and continue with content on both.

So writing content and making videos...that's the daily goal. With so much information online I don't know if this is even a good way to go to make money online. I have zero start up money, so free is the ticket here.

Do you think this is a good plan? Will I be wasting my time?

Thanks for any advice, I sincerely appreciate it!

Jake

Actually, this sounds like a pretty good plan. Pick one thing and keep doing it. Keep reading up on marketing, but don't get distracted.

Just be patient. It will take a time for your work to have effect, but trust me, it will take time no matter what you do.

Thanks Danny. I appreciate the validation of my plan. I hope it is a decent one. I'm willing to write articles, blog posts, and videos in most of my spare time.

Should I read about other avenues of marketing or read more about making money through blogs and affiliate programs?

As Danny said, it seems like a solid plan. Just stick with it until you start making money. That's probably the number one reason people fail... they don't commit to their plan 100% and end up jumping ship to the latest and greatest "opportunity."

Keep reading up on blogs & affiliate marketing, but always remember to take action and implement what you learn. Reading does no good for you if you don't implement!

I think it's ideal in your circumstances. Blogs don't need much maintenance and two posts per day will easily be enough to get Google noticing.

What I would combine it with is guest blogging where you use your expertise to post on someone else's blog for a linkback. Choose a high traffic blog in your niche and make your content top quality.

Also be sure to sign up to an autoresponder (Aweber/ Getresponse or similar) and capture your leads where appropriate.

Dave, how would I put something like aweber to capture emails on a blogger site blog? Can that be done?

Here you go my good man:

How To Integrate Blogger and AWeber

If I could offer some further advice. If you can afford the domain and hosting then it will be money well spent. You get to control your blog that way, Blogger could always ban you for something you might or might not have done

Not a problem, your written words are thanks enough.

I think it's a good start. Depending on what your niche will be, you could get alot of video traffic. Consider adding article marketing and forum marketing also.

    Hi Jake.

Are you trying to get the WF ranked for the word 'blog'

Whatever you do when you start yours, do not write like this, it's keyword stuffing and will get your site slapped by G, or worse.

Your plan seems sound enough, by constantly adding fresh content you will likely see some Google love, they like blogs especially updated ones.

    Good luck.

The plan will work, just stay focused and don't get lured into pursuing overnight success.

It took me 6 years of research to find what I wanted to do and make money doing it. The best advice I can give you is to get into something that interests you. Don't go telling people how to make money when your not making money. I always loved nature, being outdoors and trees. I am 34 now. I didn't think I would be making a living selling tree seeds. If you find a topic that interests you, start a website. You can write articles on that topic because it interests you. It's more fun that way. Product can be an ebook, affiliate program or a physical product. Anybody can make money but you need motivation. You need to have fun doing it or it will just fade away...
