$10,000 to $20,000 for startup ideas

Here's the deal:

I am wondering if I was to offer a service that takes crowdfunding to a viral level....do you think anyone would be interested? You know noobs...listbuilders and the like.

They grow a list in the process and the people who participate actually get paid for donating. I just want some thoughts on it...like:

Do you think this is a good idea for film makers, bands, inventors, product developers, people who want to pay their mortgage or bills or individuals just strapped for cash?

I'm just working with some concepts right now...any ideas or ways to promote it would help me out.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what you mean by "paid for donating".

Yea I know about Kickstarter....no, this is a little different....the donators can get their own ideas funded and the people who donate to them if the wish get their own ideas funded...and so on and so on.

You can donate once to your chosen person if you wish and that's it. but if you choose...you can get your own gig going with funding as well.

Okay, I see what you mean. When you talk about those donating getting funded, and then those next people getting funded....starting to sound like an MLM concept to me.

No not even close to MLM...there is no pyramid involved... however..it is software driven.

Thats good info you gave...I want to make sure I stay clear of that MLM concept.

Really, people can participate/donate and call it a day if they want. The software will generate a code they can share with friends if they find the idea interesting and they are compensated from the business startup person for bringing that new person along.

          Thats how it really works.

For example...lets say someone was creating a film...in some cases with crowdfunding everyone that donated would get a signed copy of the completed work.

With my concept individuals are compensated for helping the Startup reach their goal.

          Thanks for the feedback

That sounds like a tech-savvy ponzi scheme and/or traditional MLM scam.

The cashflow only comes from new people donating. Therefore, once you run out of new donors, the last guys to "donate" get screwed.

Also, if they are paying for a future gift, how is it a "donation" exactly?

Maybe you should change your positioning to a "group Angel Investor" idea or in the case of bands pre sell albums.

I have a LTD company with 2 million shares and I have sold shares when i needed money then repurchased them with out any problems.

You would have to check into the legalities of it though.

A common problem I see with a lot of start ups is that when people ask them what the start up is about, the person involved can't explain the concept in a clear concise manner. I think this falls into that category.

Good idea but you need to be able to explain your concept a lot better than this.

I see a problem with your idea.

Crowdfunding is all about the cause that you are supporting. If someone gives 10 dollars towards a band developing their cd or alike, they probably want as much of that money to go to the actual cause that you are supporting. As in any public form of fundraising you would have to explain how the money is being distributed and if in the end the band just gets 2 dollars of those ten, people might support them on another platform than yours. That means you do the marketing, but in the end they choose to support the cause using kickstarter or alike.

I guess you could offer a grand prize that one of the supporters win or for every person you invite that supports, you get a ticket for the raffle. In the case of the band I think a private gig with the band would prob be more appreciated than just a cash payout...
