Not sure about the Facebook plugin however, I still use FriendFace.

Right, Joshua is a member of the War Room, so I'm sure he was able to access the link.

(Whether or not the post was helpful to him, I don't know... I'm guessing he may have seen it before. After all, that is his post that I label as "Organized Information" in my signature.)

  No, this only backs up your database. Although it's a premium plugin BackupBuddy is still the best plugin for keeping everything backed up and also doubles as a tool for transferring to new domains.

  If they are well designed and provide necessary or welcomed functionality you can have as many plugins as you like (within reason). Yep, use all those plugins if you want your blog to crawl at snails pace. That is massive overkill and I sure hope he doesn't recommend people use all those plugins on their blogs.

I'm curious as to why you want this plugin? Remember that any comments made with the Facebook comment script do not then get included as content on your page. One of the great things about regular Wordpress comments is that people are building content on your page that will get indexed by the search engines and hopefully bring you even more visitors.

If you are just wanting the viral aspect of Facebook then I would just include a like button or fan box instead.

Platinum SEO (better then All in One SEO)

Whatever you do don't get tempted to add a whole heap of plugins just for the sake of it. Slowing down your site will do no favors for your SEO.

Nope, it is not. At least not since Wordpress has its new version 3.3.1.

Maybe it is free for you because your sites are installed on earlier versions. Otherwise, when you activate Akismet, it requires an API key which sends you their page and you can chose from various paying options. sad. sad. sad...

I are reading blogs on alternatives at the moment, and there seems to be a few of them, like : Antispambee, Defension, Grownmap Anti-Spambot plugin (GASP), Bad Behavior, TypePad Antispam ...

But, I wanted to have some advice from WF persons, since it is my hang-out here.:rolleyes:

If you want to replace the default commenting area, you can use Facebook Comment plugin. But I've tried and this plugin doesn't work well with some wp themes. What theme are you using?

Well my guess that with plugins, it is pretty much like working in a kitchen. Each person has its favourite ingredients, very personal matter... Thx for the suggestions.

But it is true that the more you have, the more it will slow down your site, therefore it should be tailored for the exact needs of your site.

The basics:

Google XML Sitemaps
W3 Total Cache
Platinum SEO
BackWPUp or EZPZ Backup (free backup plugins)

Start with those. Once you get traffic, I would recommend something to collect subscribers.
