Educationfirepower.com TV spot -- just a successful affiliate?

by Haltingpoint 4 replies
I just saw a cheesy TV spot for educationfirepower.com. Is it just me or does that just look like a standard templated thin affiliate site?

Did some affiliate just spend a huge chunk of change on a TV spot?

Has anybody else here purchased TV spots for their affiliate sites and found success?

looks to me like somebody is really gambling with their advertising budget for some CPA offer.

I guess maybe stupid people tend to trust things they see on TV more than on the internet?

Obviously those "Make 1,000,000,000,000,000 dollars a month working for 3 1/2 minutes from your home once a year" kinda of setups are making tons of money or they wouldnt keep showing those commercials.

Yeah, I agree it is a huge gamble, but in this economy with a lot of people going back to school I wonder if it could be successful.

I mean, I'm sure it drives traffic, its a question of the ROI and whether it generates profit.

Has anybody here successfully used TV for an affiliate campaign?

      It's owned by Kaplan.

They own a lot of domains that all redirect to the same or similar offer. They use the various domains to track the source of their leads or to track revenue-share deals they have with the advertisers they work with.

You can see a few of the others here:

      educationfirepower.com

They have thousands, though. I used to make a lot of money bidding on them in PPC and then just sending them to the Education Connect offer - but when they saw that they put all the domains and variations thereof as restricted keywords.

Good sleuthing--to be honest I probably should have checked that first and done some further digging. That makes sense if it is Kaplan then. They have the bankroll for this sort of thing and are probably raking it in during this crappy economy.
