My first sale - The Story!

Hey guys!

What can I say... guess I finally put the pieces together!

You know what's funny...? I've just made my first sale, and after 5 different affiliate sites that failed, I came back to my first one. The one I had so much hope for and had to abandon it because I thought there was just no way to get it going...

But there was something telling me that the site has potential and I'm foolish to ignore it... and so yesterday... I've just added 1 small paragraph, and actually DID SOME RESEARCH on the best affiliate program around, and guess what? Today, BAM - $26.92.

I'm not saying this is going to be every day (although that'd be nice ), because that would be 10% conversion rate, but heck I'm just glad I've made it.

I have one tip for all the people who are still struggling to make a sale - PUT EVERY ASPECT OF SUCCESSFUL AFFILIATE SITE DOWN ON A PAPER, and make the damn adjustments!

I was lazy for almost a year, didn't do it, and of course the site was dying. I "thought" I did it, but I knew I didn't really do my research properly, and I was afraid to actually "sell" on my website. Presell, that is

      In short, I used to only have the "benefits" listed... and then an affiliate link. But now, I added a paragraph which, in short, tells the reader that it's all in vain, unless he gets the other part of the puzzle, which is hidden inside the link - turned out to be the tipping point. *wink*

      It's like: you're gonna get this, and this, and this, all free, and this too, oh, btw - you must first see this - *link*, else it's not gonna work - besides, you'll also get to learn to do this, and this and this ... etc.

      Guess it was just a lack of good copywriting skills...

    I agree it was a stupid mistake indeed. I've always known it consciously, I was just not "comfortable" with selling to people, that is, using selling techniques (although that was the whole purpose of the website lol)
