Hey, first of all welcome to the forum, Warrior Forum is a great place to start, I definitely will learn a lot here.
Okay so to start with IM, follow these steps.

      1. Think about a topic you want to write about. (picking a niche)

      2. Keyword research - Go to Google Keyword tool and type in a word related to your niche (a word you want to rank for in search engine searches, also referred to as keyword) - I suggest you start with one. On the right hand side, select "exact" and deselect "broad", than click on search. Look at the stats, they show approximately how many visitors that word gets in a month, choose a word that gets about 1000 searches. Go to Google and type in that word to see how your competition looks like. I suggest using a SEOBook toolbar. It will show you a Page rank of the websites and how many backlinks those websites have (high Page rank (PR) and many backlinks generally suggest that keyword is competitive)

      3. Go to NameCheap to get a domain name. I suggest using exact match domain names (eg. if you want to rank for "running slippers" than get a domain name that has those words in it). The best extensions to use are .com, .net, and .org. If those are not available try a different keyword or just add extra words to the end of the domain name (eg. "runningslippersshop.com)

      4. Get hosting for your website, I think Namecheap has one, but I would suggest getting one from a Hostgator - get a Baby plan it's under $6.50 per month. Set up your website their and put a Wordpress platform - all done through hostgator Cpanel.

      5. Start posting content using a keyword you chose (1-3% keyword density) and start building backlinks

As for all short terms, don't get too hang up on that for now, but I will say that WSOs are reports, softwares, learning courses made by Warriors. Many of them are very useful and they usually are not expensive, but just to warn you, they might be addicting - as you keep buying them all the time because you think you need to know everything. My piece of advice is to look around for the first couple of month and then decide on which way you want to got in IM and stick to it. Good luck!

If you have any more questions just ask!

Stop reading is some great advise for newbies.. Put down the books and get some action in.. I've never really been a reader. Only bought 1 course and that was Yaro Starack.. Great course...

You have to find your niche buddy and go super hard at it. After that, it's all about Testing, Testing and more testing...

Once you find you pot of Gold, ride it til the wheels fall off..

Hit me up if you're thinking of starting a blog. That's my field...

      Wish you much success
      Dennis

PS.. Check out Justin Goff's marketingmayhemmoney.com... Dude has some great podcasts on how to start in affiliate marketing.. He also has a pretty good Weight loss product you can promote..

Just think of a crafty way to get the offer in front of people with a problem that it solves..

I don't know if I'd say it's EASY. But its' definitely simple once you stop whining, thinking, complaining and realized what's really involved in the process.

    Hi Nick,

what specific market (or niche) are you interested in?

also are you looking to create your own product or help sell someone's product (an affiliate)?

WSO stands for Warrior Special Offers. you can browse through those from this website. It is fellow warriors promoting their own products, some of it is good some isn't.

PLR stands for Private Label Rights. If you get a product that is PLR it means you can make changes to it and resell it as your own work. (basically)

    Hope that helps

When you are starting out, I recommend you find products you can promote as an affiliate. This is good for two reasons. Firstly, you do not need to create your own products, which is a plus if you are starting out. Secondly, you can quickly test the market. If you do get successful in making sales of the products as an affiliate, then you know there is a market for it and you can go ahead and create your own products once you've got some success as an affiliate.

First spend a little time digesting what you have already learned. There are many ways to make money. You can build an Amazon site, Write Articles, offer services and more.

Stay away from buying a bunch of WSO's you will become even more confused. Choose an area you want to start off in, and focus in that area only. If you spend your time jumping around you will get nowhere. Learn about your area and test different ideas. You may want to plan out what you want to achieve. Good luck

How to find a niche - Niche Finder Mechanics, by Peter Garety I like this ebook and it's free

Keyword density - how many times is repeated your keyword in the article

Backlinking - this is for longer discussion, because everyone has different tactic. I would suggest you to learn more about bookmarks, contextual links, forum profile links, blog comments, guest posts, press releases... Then you will have a better understanding

Monetizing - this is the last part of the beginning. You can monetize your site with affiliate promotions (you promote someone else's product and you get commissions), adsense, banner ads, building a list and then promote them your products or affiliate products...

Experience - just ask more questions and search the forum if you don't understand something. You can always google it or youtube it.

      Hope it helps

Honestly I'm not sure of any free ways to estimate the value, but I say if there is a product for your niche than just go for it. If you want to spend some money get Market Samurai - go through tutorials that will teach you how to estimate the value of the niche with that tool

If you are not good in writing, then just outsource it or use Fiverr. I use this guy from Fiverr, he is good - LINK

Keyword density is how often you put a keyword in your content so 1% would be - for every 100 words you have 1 keyword in your text

Backlinks can be done in many ways, depending if you want to spend money or not. Manually would be free and there are many free tools out there to do that. If you want to spend a little I always recommend Paul's ($8/month) and Angela's ($5/month) backlinks - you get a PDF file where they show you exactly how to build powerful backlinks. Or go on Fiverr and pay $5 for people to do backlinks for you

Find an affiliate program through Clickbank, Commission Junction or Amazon (every time someone buys using your link you will get a commission) Also install Adsense on your webiste (these are small adds you can place anywhere on the site, when a person clicks on the ad, you will earn money).

P.S - if you go on Fiverr and start ordering services don't get too carried away as it's easy to spend a lot of money there. Always remember on Fiverr you get what you pay for so don't get too excited when they offer 1000 backlinks for $5

      Good luck!

It all depends on the approach and keywords you will target for your website. Even popular niches such as diet, health, lifestyle have a place for a newbie because each of those broad niches have many sub-niches and keywords to target.

When I say approach what I mean is, if you want mainly search engine traffic get a keyword with low to medium competition. However, if you are good with social media and can build many followers through ads, comments, guest posts etc. than you can virtually target any niche.

There's really three big niches you need to consider - health, wealth, lifestyle. These niches have a large market of passionate people who are reachable. What you need to do is pick one, then drill down and carve out a specific sub-niche within the niche. For example, an example of a sub-niche in the wealth niche would be an online make money method that teaches 'how to make $100 a day with only 30 minutes of work' or something like that.

Perhaps you should take a look on those easier ways of getting started such as blogging, building up the list, etc.

You should stop researching on many product information to avoid information overloading and most of the things are around the same with different sentence phrasing.

If you are really interested to start it now, perhaps you can try blogging.Blogging is one of the easy way to get started. It is easy to get started but becoming a good blogger requires lots of hard work, effort and discipline.

Wordpress is one of the best blogging platform and there is little technical knowledge needed since plugins are readily available. I have spent so much time reading and I realised that the time spent taking action would be much better. Not to say that reading and researching is not good, just that, by taking action and tweaking it would be beneficial rather than just plain reading.

After you have start to take action, your objectives would be much clearer and hence, you can start to research on the part that is required for you to grow more.

      Good luck to you!

    Hi Nickro,

From what I understand, you are looking for a way to make money online. There are a lot of ways to go about doing that, but I think the main 3 ways are:

1- Be an affiliate marketer: affiliate marketing is selling a product that someone else created, and with every sale you make you will make a percentage of the profit. If you want to be an affiliate marketer the best way to go in my opinion is to find a niche/product and start marketing the niche/product you chose. Many warriors around here are able to help and guide you on how to choose a profitable niche and market it.

2- Sell your own product: you can write an eBook, create a software/plugin and sell it. There are many options to go about selling your product, a proven way to do it is by selling your product here on this forum.

3- Sell a service: choose something that you can do for others and offer it as a service in exchange for money. Common services that you can find on this forum are website building, SEO and article writing among others.

Choose which option suits you best and learn more about it. Don't expect to make a lot of money straight away, be patience, don't believe people telling you that you will make $643634/month don't buy too many eBooks and SEO applications and try to find a good mentor. Whatever option you choose make sure to always have a good relationship with your customers and make sure to build an emailing list. I know this might look like general advice but trust me following them will save you a lot of time, effort and money, a lot of us have learned this the hard way

    Nickro,
the advice above from Russerg is very sound.
It is very hard not to get pulled in a million directions as there are so many plans, courses, methods, etc. Pick a plan and stick with. As you learn you will know when to tweek or change that plan. As a newbie I learned a lot from Matt Carter's Rapid Profit Formula. The smaill investment was worth the fee, $65 I think it was.. His blog is very good, as is this one of course.

  • You first need to decide how you are going to make money online. Do you want to create your own product, or do you want to promote other people's products?

Then decide how you are going to drive traffic to your website with your offer. Are you going to use SEO, Adwords PPC, Articles etc.

I would focus on those two things first and go from there. Then learn everything you can about those methods and stick with them.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5636977].message }}
  • Hi Nick, starting is never easy, but I'm sure that you will comprehend everything within a step by step way for doing business.
I will start with affiliate marketing, promoting other people products from Clickbank or other major affiliate networks like PayDotCom, Plimus, Payspree and so on.

In this way you will learn how to play with affiliates, offers and websites (probably you will use blogs to promote).

This is how I started, but before coming to the right way I made also some errors, it's normal as newbies

    Thanks and see you soon,

    Nick and tchandler5,
Good post and you are in the right place to ask these questions. This is what I did.

After looking around on the internet for a while and making no progress as to what I was going to do, I bumped into Chris Farrell's site and reluctantly paid the introductory membership fee. He took me step by step on how to build a site and generate traffic to it but most importantly it made me take action. After spending a couple of months as a member of his site I moved on. I learned a tremendous amount during that time and it gave me the tools to decide what I wanted to do. It is very easy to get information overload and not know where to go next.

My recommendation to you guys is to find a structured environment to work and learn in where you will not get saturated with to much information and people trying to sell you things that you don't need. For me that place was with Chris Farrell. You will have to pick where or who you will work with and learn from. The Warrior Forum is a great place to learn from and people will give you genuine advise. You maybe could find a good coach in here that could give you some structure and help you see how things are done.

There are so many ways to make money online that the question can not be answered in a thread on a forum. A coach can help you narrow those questions down and get you focused on your next move.

I hope this helps you guys and good luck.

A good friend gave me this advice years ago. If you can live without it, then you should. I would give you the same advice with IM. If you can live without the niche you are going to market, then you should. It will take several months to possible years before you will make money in IM. Most IMers spend more money that they make. There is lots of free info on the web, just google. Don't spend any money at first, just research the how to. Search this forum and the internet. Most products I have bought, I found similar info else where for nothing.

    Hey,

If you are still having problems we can help. Internet marketing is really simple.

But everyone has made it complicated. Just follow simple, easy steps and do the work.

That is why we are creating a new system. It is not even formal yet because we want it to be informal and real. We are going to call it Show and Tell Marketing.

The premise is that users will be able to see campaigns live while it is being done. We are going back to the basics so that anyone can do this.

Also users will be able to contribute or just copy our campaigns while watching us.

This is all in concept right now. To be honest we may not even make it formal for some time. We are actually going to set everything up like a newbie would.

We have already started with a very basic looking sales page on webs.com.

Anyone that wants to can check it out below:

    Show and Tell Marketing

We even used a free autoresponder and left everything default.
